Birth defects: Candidates silent on epidemic

Many people report that they can see birth defects on wildlife, especially on the white-tail deer and mule deer in their yards.

People who have livestock or pets report that many of their animals have the same birth defects. Most alarming, Centers for Disease Control records show those same birth defects are increasing dramatically on human newborns.

Between 2007 and 2013, approximately one-third of wild and domestic animals I necropsied had an enlarged right heart ventricle. Heart defects are now reported to be the most common birth defect on human newborns. Judging by the CDC records and photos of animals with birth defects on the Internet, the birth defects have become common nationwide. Microcephaly and anacephaly were increasing on human newborns in the U.S. before Zika virus was mentioned.
