He is continuously scanning the crowd....over and over again...non-stop??? What for?

I can see doing it once or twice to document the attendance, but he's up to something else it would appear.....

He's very steadily scanning with his camera phone to get the best quality.....

Trump's security detail needs to be aware of all possible threats:

Traffic "accidents". Remember when GW Bush was out jogging and a trash truck almost ran over him?

Poison, pathogen, or other toxin via food, water, or air. Even by touch such as a handshake. When GHW Bush was VP, he contracted a rare disease. Then, HIS DOG got the same disease. Experts at the time said the water supply line for the VP residence may have been penetrated and a poison inserted.

Radiation. Its been done. Back in the 1970s US embassy personnel in Germany kept getting radiation sickness. Finally, it turned out that a radioactive material had been planted next door.

Radio Frequency weapons. An amateur can turn a commercial microwave oven into a death ray. No shit. You can detect the beam from appropriate scanners off the backscatter or sidelobes. A field expedient is to wave a fluorescent bulb in the air and watch it light up when it hits the beam.

Laser weapons including invisible UV or IR beams. You can use commercially available devices to fry a target from over 1000 meters.

Bombs and IEDs go without saying. Explosives can look innocuous. For example, you could have a spilled liquid on the floor that looks like Coca Cola but is actually Astrolite, one of the most powerful explosives known.
