Local Sheriff shields himself from active shooter with his deputy

About three weeks ago my small little town located in Northwest Alabama had and active shooter imcident.
It began in the city attorney s office Mr. Scott Hunt a man who runs a local insulation business Mr. Cooper entered the law office produced a hand gun and made threats to kill the attorney.

Mr. Cooper gave the attorney orders to sit at his desk as well as the receptionist not move and await a client that was meeting with Mr. Hunt that morning.

The man finally arrived and Mr. Cooper fatally shot him on the head. Then he walked out the door like nothing happened. The authorities were notified, now it's important to understand where this all took place.

The city attorneys office is across the street from the county court house in the middle of the city which is the county seat. The gunman walked a block and a half to a local tax office which is a block from the police department. He went inside and shot a female CPA three times point blank in the head.

The sheriff arrived with one deputy and one local police officer in time to hear the shots from the woman being executed.

The gunman appeared about 20 - 30 yards from the officers the brave sheriff got so scared he pulled his deputy in front of him to act as a human shield and none of the officers ever fired at the human after having the assailants weapon pointed at them several times.

This story shows what kind of chicken shit law enforcement we have in this county. I've posted about them before but nothing that could match the cowardice this four term sheriff showed on this terrible day.

A private citizen was the hero of the day by doing what?
That's right he pulled his concealed hand gun and shot the gunman twice.
