As technology explodes, we may get cheap nearly unlimited power. In Australia for example you might be able to easily transform large areas of desert into arable farm land, desalinating water from the ocean and pumping it to the deserts and terraforming it.

With any luck technology will bring enough food and energy for all nations to not have to worry..
