4.2 strikes Canary Islands (Cumbre Vieja) massive Atlantic wide Tsunami if Volcano flank collapases

If more Quakes start hitting to the North of this one, at that magnitude, it will indeed need watching.

Nothing showing for the Canary Island area on USGS yet.

They do show a 5.8 on the opposite side of the Atlantic just north of Venezuela though.

130-160ft High tidal waves for East Us coast. Of course much more could slide into the ocean and be larger or smaller.

Nothing is going to happen.

The reality is that no major city in the world could be evacuated in a matter of hours. You just can't get that many people jammed through a couple of main highways that fast. The first car to have a flat tire, engine trouble, or heaven forbid a wreck would bring traffic to a stand still.

If a flank collapse in the Canary Islands caused a significant tsunami, many cities on the East coast of the US would be devastated... with a large number of people still there when it happened.
