My dad died today

My dad died when I was five. At least you had all those years together, and have the memories.

Many of us here have lost our dad. Being one as well there is an emptiness without him. I pray that you will receive comfort and peace in knowing that your brief absence of one another will met with an eternal - rejoining in an Eternal way.

It's going to hurt for a long time, thats nirmal. It wil get better but before that.

People will seem heartless in the way they talk about death and just throw the word out

the phases of moarning that they talk about are true

eventually you'll feel better and draw strength from all this.

Sorry, OP. My dad also died on 23rd April, 32 years ago when I was 14. I still think about him every day and have loads of happy memories. You will too.

I am sorry for your loss. Don't let anyone tell you how to grieve or for how long. For everyone it's different and there is no set timeframe for that. Grieving your loss Is important and should not be cut short by others who tell you how you should feel. I am really sorry for your loss.

I'm sending peace and love to you. That first year is bad all the holidays ans sometimes it will hit you out of the blue like when your driving. Its ok there is no shame in crying... The love of a parent to child is something that noone can replace.

I'm so sorry. Take time to deal with this in whatever way is best for you. No one has the right to pressure you or judge you.
