Can it be determined what really originated the use of the pine tree in celebrating the birth of Christ? and/or Could there be a connection between the pine tree and the pineal gland? Seems so much has got purposefully mixed up lost and over time. Just made me wonder as heaven is within The pine shaped pineal gland being our pscho/physiological connection to Christ. And as being attacked on so many different levels outrightly, symbolically and subliminally.. Who knows... Don't matter.. They can't kill the Spirit of Christmas No matter how hard they try.. |
mercury2 User ID: 167885 France 12/10/2006 10:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Have you guys checked out The 2006 War on Christmas Competition at VDARE.com? Sometimes I can't read it, it is so depressing and makes me angry. I will have to read more about this Seattle airport situation. I do not understand how one man or one very small minority group of people can ruin things for everyone else this way. Why are people so afraid of "offending" someone? Why do they cave in to these PC demands? What pussies! And it is going to backfire, big time, because instead of offending one rabbi or a couple of his syagogue, they are going to offend the majority of the population of the US. The best response would be to send the people involved an avalanche of very nice and sincere Christmas cards. I wonder if anyone is orchestrating a campaign to do so? Here's the blog post on this from vdare's War Against Christmas page: This year there has been a deluge of newspaper articles, letters to the editor, and blog postings all asserting that there is no War against Christmas. This seems to the party line. However, the word did not get out to the Seattle/Tacoma area: All of the Christmas trees inside the terminal at Sea-Tac have been removed in response to a complaint by a rabbi. A local rabbi wanted to install an 8-foot menorah and have a public lighting ceremony. He threatened to sue if the menorah wasn’t put up, and gave a two-day deadline to remove the trees. Xmas trees removed from Sea-Tac by Kim Holcomb King 5 News Saturday September 9 2006 The real issue here is not the successful imposition of its preferences by a religious minority, but the enthusiastic cowardice by the authorities Sea-Tac public affairs manager Terri-Ann Betancourt said the trees that adorn the Sea-Tac upper and lower levels may not properly represent all cultures…we don’t want to litigate with this individual, we want to reach some kind of solution,” Betancourt said. “But that is going to take some thoughtful discussion and we would like to have time to have that thoughtful discussion” Until then, no Christmas decor at Sea-Tac. The same decorations have been put up for at least 10 years, she said. How much litigation was likely in the two weeks before Christmas? Indeed, why not let the man have his Menorah? (Assuming he really wanted it.) Some of my most precious memories as a small child are images of Christmas scenes in public places, briefly glimpsed and remembered forever. Now the season’s flow of children through the Seattle Airport will not have that chance there, as they would normally have done. It would be easy to blame the domineering selfishness of the complainant. The true culprit is the conniving pusillanimity of the Airport management. Complain to Mark Reis, the Airport’s Managing Director, or to the Commissioners of the Port of Seattle, to which it belongs – they are elected. Redheaded Stepchild User ID: 160010 United States 12/10/2006 12:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Was there a "Lighting Ceremony" for the Christmas decorations at SEA-TAC? I couldn't find any reference to one in the article. If there was no ceremony, then the Rabbi was completely out of line for requesting one for his Menorah. I see no problem with SEA-TAC offering the Rabbi an appropriate space to display his Menorah, but it appears that the Rabbi wanted 'special' considerations that were above and beyond what was already done for the Christmas decorations. Does it fit you? i fail to see your point. what i do see is that more people have been killed in the name of religion, or in the name of god, than for any other reason. it's sort of the ultimate excuse to kill. to say that there's a god in the sky who's telling me that you're an infidel and i should kill you is certainly the strongest argument that could be made. without that kind of supernatural rationale, the world would be much safer. |

Dufontaine nli User ID: 98506 United States 12/10/2006 01:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So not only did the Rabbi request his own Minorah display complete with lighting cerimony...he demanded the Christmas trees be removed? Sounds more like a turf war. What greater venue to conquer for a spiritual "changing of the gaurd" than an airport during the holidays? Maybe a mall, but the point is that this is not going to be an isolate incodent. This Rabbi has set a precedent and others will follow next year for sure. Now, as for the pineal gland analogy...you are definitely on to something there! I read and commented on several of the pineal gland thread, and it has become increasingly clear over the past few days of research that the grandest subversion of man has been purpetrated by suppressing the significance of our pineal and it's connection to All That Is. I urge GLPers to read the latest archived pineal threads (Shamanism & the Pineal, Christianity & the Pineal, Flouridation & the Pineal). Back to the Christmas Tree Seize of '06...regardless of what your stance is on the symbols of Christianity vs the symbols of Paganism, the Rabbi has in one fell swoop replaced them with his own symbols. He didn't share the stage, he stole it. That to me is the issue at hand. Why the sudden need for the spotlight? Merry Christmas!!!! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 114377 Sweden 12/10/2006 01:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Back in 91-92 when I was still going in school, we were strictly forbidden to sing our national anthem at the school graduation, because the teachers were concerned that our muslim students would feel uncomfortable. Thing is I don`t think that the muslim students would have minded at all. Either way, those who choosed to sing our national anthem anyway were not allowed to attend at the actuall graduation ceremony later that day in church. I thought to myself, "well it will pass, it`s just a phase, stupid teachers" etc Last summer, when the kids graduated, they had moved the graduation ceremony out from the church to the gym hall, so the muslim students would not get offended. So no national anthem and no church, I think it is so screwed up. Most kids where I live never see the inside of a church and now they definetly wont. For what?? |

Are people becoming so sensitive that all things beautiful are ugly to them. Unconditional love for all things is were it's at. From my viewpoint Quoting: FlintYup I agree, this is a shame. All it will do is make people even more cold hearted than they alrady are. Christmas trees are harmless and as neutral as Christmas presents but I bet they won't ban stores from promoting the Christmas season because that's money! There is nothing biblical about a Christmas tree at all, it's not like it was Jesus in a manger or something. Shame. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 167868 United States 12/10/2006 03:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The funny thing is that our current Christmas celebrations, music, etc. were made into a massive consumer event by the very people that protested the Christmas trees at the airport. Who stands to benefit the most by keeping us all buying, buying, buying at Christmas time? Christmas used to be a quiet, more religious celebration until the major department stores and advertisers got into the act and turned it into a feeding frenzy of conspicuous consumerism. |

De-ah-nah User ID: 89439 United States 12/10/2006 03:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In my meanderings thinking on the pine/pineal connection I found some interesting stuff about ancient pine trees, that is the resin of fossilized prehistoric pine trees. It is noted the resins exert a positive influence on the endocrine system, our spleen and heart. Also these resins are noted to be healing, soothing, harmonizing and electrically alive with solidified golden light. Stabilizes kundalini awakening. Activates altruistic nature. Spiritualizes the intellect. Chakras: navel, solar plexus, crown. Also said.. This resin or amber gemstone once it's made into goblet will not only detect, but burn away any poison it contains. When burned, it still gives off a pine scent (50 million years later!) Oh, Christmas Tree! You sure have some amazing properties. |
