Ugh yes they are horrible this season...I've had a migraine that hasn't subsided in two weeks, and my head feels like it's going to explode.
My cousins allergies have been so bad that he came down with a 105 degree fever. When he went to the ER, he said it was packed, mostly with hayfever symptoms

I NEVER have allergies and yet for the past 2 weeks I can't keep my lungs clear. I've been hacking shit non stop. No fever. No weakness. Just tons of crap from my lungs. Nothing provides much relief. WTH?

And I have asthma, which this is wreaking havoc with ...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6305916

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL with your asthma!! We lost my 26 yr old cousin and the 6 mo old baby girl she was carrying , Gabriella, a month after Tracy released her first CD. She sat up in bed in the middle of the night and took her last breath, and died due to an asthma attack. Her husband did perform cpr but it was too late.

Please, make sure you do not let ANY abnormal signs go without seeing your Dr.
Take Care and feel better soon. Allergies suck!!

Re: Anyone else having the horrid allergy attack?
Anyone here get mucus in throat? its annoying like crazy!
 Quoting: Truth seeker!

Spray up your nose with saline, and then blow it out. Tip your head back briefly to get to the stuff in the back. Do this over and over till the saline runs down the back of your nose/throat and clears out the thick gunk. Then drink something hot to clear it out completely. When you blow out the saline, it's amazing how much it clears out the back of your nose and throat. Do this as many times a day as you need to stay comfortable, and especially when you come inside and after a shower and when you first get up. Get a pressurized can of saline without preservatives.

Or use a neti pot, but I have never worked up the nerve to try that.

Wash your face and your eyes when you come inside after being outside. If no time to shower, run a wet washcloth over your hair. Get a can of saline for eyes without irritating preservatives. Wash your hands, squirt some saline in the hand and gently bathe your eyes. I am uzing Zadator OTC eye drops and they are great. The pharmacist said they are the closest to Patanol for all the OTC allergy eye drops, and no $100 copay. Twelve bucks. Change your pillow case often.

Get a good face mask for outdoor work, one with a neoprene seal. Always shower when you come inside, including hair. Do not bring outdoor clothing into the bedroom. If you do yard work, just strip off the clothing right into the washer, don't wear it into the house if possible.

Get a GOOD air filter, I have about three different kinds. One with a UV light in case there is mold. Combo electrostatic and HEPA filters.

I use colloidal silver in the nose and in the nebulizer to inhale it because it is anti-inflammatory, along with antifungal. Some gmo crops have NASTY pollen, it's worse than the heirloom crops. If you get some col. silver and don't have a nose sprayer, buy a cheap squeeze bottle of nasal saline and squeeze it all out, rinse with distilled water, and suck up the silver into it. Spray up your nose and also inhale it if you are having asthma or chest issues. When you spray your nose, it will burn a little, like pool water burns your nose. I find that if allergies are bad, it will burn more. But it will subside after a few moments. The saline does not burn.

Aged garlic extract and coconut oil will kill fungus, along with the silver. Sometimes asthma and allergies are partially caused by fungal stuff in the air. It's springtime and rainy. So...mold, fungus, etc.

I saw an article a few years back about people in FL being in the hospital with some kind of respiratory thing, and they finally realized that it was the BT toxin from the gmo cotton crop. Same thing had happened in India is how they figured it out. So, silver to help with the toxin, air filters and masks to help keep it out of your body.

Good luck. Hope this helps. I am not a doctor.

I have been reading up on low histamine diets. Out of control histamine is what gives us allergy reactions. Just started reading about it yesterday. This might help some people here during allergy season.

[link to www.google.com]

And an enzyme called DAO is supposed to help as well.

[link to www.google.com]

It really helps to find out why we do have allergies and what we possibly can do about them. So during allergy season it might help to have a low histamine diet and eat foods that help the DAO levels. There are even DAO supplements.

Hope you find relief OP and others! I am in the same boat with y'all.

Anyone else having horrid allergy season? Im in North Alabama and for past two weeks have been in misery with it. Ive tried both over the counter and prescriptions medicine. Ive seen others having misery too. Headache. Sneezing about 30 times a day. Eyes swollen and blood red. Cheeks are puffy with red rash. Nose pouring out clear liquid. Sore throat and coughing up watery junk. This is like no season I've ever experienced in my nearly 50 years. I've had to miss several days of work because the water coming out of my nose and eyes.

I don't get seasonal allergies, ever, until this year. Constant drainage and coughing due to drainage. It's crazy.

Yes.
Third day and I am just the latest person I know to befall this cold/allergy type thingy.

Went to put water outside for my cats and could hear my neighbor halfway down the block sneezing her head off and coughing.

Re: Anyone else having the horrid allergy attack?
I'm not but one of my dogs is in the worst way EVER! She's the older one at 10, and my gosh she has been itching and scratching like crazy!!

I know it isn't fleas because there isn't a single flea on her when I drag the flea comb thru her coat and the other small dog and cats have no fleas either plus I use Knockout ES twice a year ( spring & fall) and they are all on flea, tick and heartworm medication.

Poor thing, I've given her Loratidine 10mg. , Benadryl ( which does not help and gives her diarrhea ), I've sprayed her with organic apple cider vinegar ( Braggs) AND rubbed her down with Organic Unrefined, Virgin Coconut oil which he helped her the best but not completely.
My parents dog is suffering the same thing and these dogs have never done this before until this year!!! I don't really want to take her in for shots but may have too, I'm getting ready to order her some Dinovite to see if that will help along with the liquid they recommend. If anyone has any other recommendations, PLEASE LIST THEM...THIS GIRL IS MISERABLE!
 Quoting: Just Trina

Maybe put a little apple cider vinegar in her water bowl. I have heard that can help dogs. Here is a google search so you can read about it before you try it.

Re: Anyone else having the horrid allergy attack?
Personally, I am having symptoms, but not allergy related, but perhaps linked with sun activity, magnetosphere discrepancy, however that is mere speculation on my end. It's a more extreme fatigue and aching, constant head-aches, on top of feeling disconnected and uninspired to do even the things I am passionate about, i.e. Playing music and hockey, and of course learning/researching.

Same here. My husband, who works outside all day, has never had so much as a sniffle and now has pretty significant allergies. Mine are just worse than usual. Oddly, my skin seems to be more affected than my lungs or nose, or eyes.

Re: Anyone else having the horrid allergy attack?
Actually its been a light allergy year for me in NJ....Flonase kept most problems at bay....just a bit of itchy eyes....a few years back, it was so bad here that I needed a rescue inhaler for asthma attacks triggered by the pollen....so far flonase been the best allergy med for me Allegra is second best....I tried them all...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71554755

yea i've tried allegra, claritin, zyrtec. etc. etc. Now I have flonase and a fast acting mist.
 Quoting: OVRANALYZE

I think I can help you! I can't describe how awful my allergies were over the last year - first time ever. Spent a fortune on meds, docs/allergists, just miserable.

It is now completely gone because:

1 Tbsp organic apple cider vinegar (Bragg's is great, in every grocery store)

1/2 tsp of baking soda

topped off with hot/warm water - so it's about half a cup

Drink it - three times a day.

It's amazing. Stick with it and within a week I believe you'll be so much better. And you don't stop when the allergies disappear. Just make it a part of your daily life.

allergies, pretty life changing for him, look it up. I think you need to
take it 3 times a day.

me too, been on the vitc now for a few weeks and seems to be getting better,

BUT never had it this bad, red face all the time, I read it takes the body MIN 3 weeks to switch of the immune panic mode and stop over release the emzimes.

SO your stuck with it for 3 weeks hoping what ever kicked it off dont come back.

In my case i found the house much more dusty than normal and cleaning now every week! full clean out and wipe down.

But THIS AINT NO DUST. its micro fibers comming in from out side. Every day there is a build up. What the heck is going on. WHO is dumping these fibers out there?

I'm taking Claritin for my Spring and Fall hay fever [& pollen allergy]. AND, when I have some "breakthrough" symptoms, my physician recommended taking 4 tabs of 500 mg each B-5 [Pantothetic acid]. They really work to stop all the symptoms and can be used for other than hay fever allergic reactions.

Re: Anyone else having the horrid allergy attack?
I know a woman who works at one of the National Parks here in Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee. She told me she had to cross a picket line to get to work a while back and when I asked why she said she works at the greenhouses for this particular Park and they were tasked with helping to eradicate the diseases that are wiping out certain tree species in the area.

To that effort, gaspthey have been crossing fish genes with the tree's DNA and have had success in sparing these trees. The unfortunate side effect is that they have now created a WHOLE NEW ALLERGY for people in the area who had previously not been allergic to the pollen from these trees. Thus the picket line!

Everyone I talk to is suffering from allergies this season, even folks who say they have never had problems with allergies before. I always think about that conversation with the park employee. Our governments are messing with nature and we are suffering the consequences!
