I'm thinking I need to talk to God, but I don't know how

Read the Hopi Two Path Prophecy. It's an interesting read, but it gives quite a clear message. Follow your heart, choose intuition. It's only once you've committed to that path that you may hear a calling. And sometimes, when the way doesn't seem clear, you'll receive personal guidance. Look within, be mindfull of your inner voice, it's a conversation with the universe.

Speak straight from the heart. And listen with your heart. If you expect to hear a voice respond you may be disappointed because God mainly speaks in many non-verbal languages also, like intuition, dreams, music, synchronicities, a smile from a friend, etc.

Jesus is the BEST FRIEND you will ever had. He hears ya. Read what He says, and believe it. Trust comes, and for sure, yourlife changes, although not overnight. It just gets easier, and then He becomes all your delight.

Let me add that you will be tested for sincerity. Just remember that he's listening. You won't be walking this road alone. It's a two-way street. Meet Him half way and He'll go the rest of the way with you. What a walk!

NO! It's not about learning. There is no end to learning and it becomes wearing to the soul. The bible talks about ever learning and never being able to come to the knowledge of the truth. You must first believe that he is. He knows what you are going to say before you even say it. But, in order for you to benefit from your part of the equation, YOU must hear yourself say it. He is a rewarder for those who diligently seek him. If you ever submit to the suggestion that you must learn enough to be able to approach Him, you will never get there, Satan will make sure of that and you will be put on a treadmill of trying to learn for the rest of your days. Just get alone and block everything else out, and talk to Him. That is all you need. He will respond to true faith, and you have it, because he puts a measure of faith in all men.

I actually kinda did all that in a rainstorm on the side of a hill a few years back, but thanks for the reminder. Every little bit helps, I will find my way home, sooner or later.

Well if you read the bible you see a common theme when one of Gods prophet or follower wanted to talk to him.

That common theme is Fasting. Moses and Elijah fasted for 40 days before speaking to God. king David fasted for 21 days, etc.

You have to do a water fast (don't eat anything, only drink water). I myself have done a 3 day water fast multiple times, but compared to God disciples this is nothing. I am trying to do 7 day fast.

During this time make sure you do only Holy things. No sex (if you're married), No masturbation, No cursing, No getting angry for stupid reasons, etc. This is actually easy to do because you won't have energy to do unholy things.

The most important thing is to always pray, everyday, multiple times a day. Talking to God has to be like the only thing in your mind. It has to come from your heart. Your prayers must come from your heart.

I Don't know how long the fast has to be, but I think 7 days is the minimum, and you continue until God speaks to you. You're basically going to be in the brink of death if or when God decides to speak with you.

He will probably talk to you through a dream, Or if you're a very holy person you might get an Angel sent to you briefly. Make sure you know what questions to ask, don't just stand there like a deer who just saw car lights, lol.

I like the whole bible. After you get through Genesis you will see a people that say they will follow God but have a hard time following him. God gives them many chances, disciplines them and then has mercy on them. God later sends his son to redeem them since they have so many problems following him. This has been his plan all along. You can see his plan from Abraham to Jacob.

Abraham is told to sacrifice his first born (Isaac/Christ). God does not let Abraham him do this but it was an act of faith. Later Abraham sends his servant (Holy Spirit) to find a bride (Rebekah/Church) for his Son.

We need him in our lives every day, not just when problems come. Sometimes he allows issues so that we come to him. Talk to him like he's your best friend, that's what I do. I talk to him constantly almost...he is listening and he loves you. He has a plan for your life, and it's good. Read the bible also, but not the niv version...he often speaks to us through his word..I like to pray before I open my bible, ask him to speak to me through it, then open it randomly and see what it says.often it applies directly to what is going on in my life. Some things that can keep god from us are unconfessed sin, guilt we may have ourselves. ...make sure your conscience is clear and expect to hear from him.

Just start. There's no time limit!

I would recommend reading Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Act's. This is about the love that Jesus has for you and I and to help you understand the sacrifice that he made for us when he died for us on the cross. John 3:16

Start using affirmation's in your life. Instead of saying that I am going to achieve x. You ask a question. Why am I so happy. Then say that I am so happy today. Give God thanks for being happy. This will change your life.

Start learning how to meditate. This will help bring in balance in your life.

Praying is simple. Pray like you are talking to a friend. I would also read about how to become a prayer warrior. This will help your prayer's to become more focused.

Religion is setup as a gatekeeper and this is what Jesus fought against. If you want Jesus to truly come into your life be prepared to give him everything. This is a prayer that I have used with numerous people and it works. Say this prayer and be sincere in your heart and welcome Jesus into your heart.

You will not regret having God and Jesus in your life. I have gone through many struggles during this journey; but, I know that God and Jesus is always with me. They are the same yesterday, today, and forever. They love you more than you can understand. Jesus stepped down from his thrown to be poor and go through the greatest humiliation that anyone can go through in order for us to be set free. He is the way, truth, and light. You want understand the importance of doing this until you try fasting. Fast's can be as simple as 1 day all the way to 40 day's depends on how God leads you to do the fast.

Dear OP:

One day I came home from work tired from another day. I sat back on my couch petting my dogs and just let my head fall on the back of the couch and I said "God, if you're there, is there anything more to this life than just working every day to pay my bills? This is crazy".

The next day when I came home from, I greeted my dogs with "We're going back home!". It just came out of my mouth...

That night, I searched online for a job on the other side of the country. Found one that screamed "this is for you!". I applied that night and had a call the next day asking if I could fly out for an interview. That day at work I told my co-worker that I was probably going to move back home and she said "I just got my real estate license, are you going to sell your house?". She came over that night and she listed my house for sale.

A CHRISTIAN couple showed up a few days later stating they were just moving into this city and needed a house that could close FAST. They offered full price.

Needless to say, exactly three weeks later I was moved back home, all the way across the country, with my house SOLD and a brand new job.


Even after the above, it still took about a good five or six years for me to turn back to Him, even all the while knowing the above could have ONLY happened through Him.

Don't search for the way of life because the way is the life. You have something missing in you life, go search that missing pieces. Your search will be your life. You will understand life there, well atleast some of it. And that understanding is just enough to take you to next life. Don't forget to Enjoy the Ride no matter how painful it is because at the end you will know, It means everything to you yet it doesn't matter.

Praying is just opening your heart and asking God to Guide o. There is also "preying" which is seeking self through God... Not something that works, yet it is typically what Christian's seek; God's Enabling for their own will rather than their submission to HIS.


Praying with sincere and True heart is what brings you Unto The Father. Christ Gave HIS Life To Enable us to Come Unto The Father and live our lives In Relationship With HIM. Trusting God Fully and completely with every aspect of your life and Telling HIM that you do, is The Way...


Maybe for now, just learning to pray is enough? Then again, if you Love God and Trust HIM Fully, not really any reason to delay Telling HIM so...


Of course, if things are only a "bit rough" and you can grit your teeth and soldier onward, what do you really need God for anyway?

Christ Jesus Witnesses that "Many were Called, but few are Chosen" in Matt 22:14 It is we who must Choose, if you would live In HIS Accord and Know HIS Peace and Fulfillment.

You don't have to be at death's door or facing financial or other ruin to earnestly Seek Relationship With God. You just have to decide that your self-will and the life you're living through it are not what you want any longer and then find the willingness to Accept God's Will For You no matter what it may be and allow HIM to Guide your life from then on.

No reason to wait for "the right moment" or time to Take Action. Just Seek HIM in earnest prayer and give HIM your life to do with as HE See's Fit.

If you are motivated and can sincerely Trust God Fully with all aspects of your life, there is no reason to wait...
32yrs ago, I was headed to the fridge at 12:30am when "Why don't you give your life to God Now?" came into my mind... So I knelt down then and there and did. Once I was through with my prayer, giving HIM my life, I KNEW I had Been In Father's Presence, and my offering had been accepted!

My life changed from that moment on and I have lived since in full confidence and Trust, Through my Relationship with The Holy Trinity.

God Has Made your way, you just have to take action!
