Then I kept seeing it pop up. Many world leaders, including Obama, have recently mentioned the flat earth. I've looked at numerous photos of the earth from space and see may discrepancies in the size and shape of the continents. I've never found a real picture of a satellite in orbit when there are supposedly thousands of them. I can't understand how engineers have never accounted for the curve of the earth in building bridges and sky scrapers. It seems the more I look into this and try to prove the earth is round the harder it gets for me to do so. Quoting: Childzies Can anyone here provide solid evidence that the earth is a globe because I would love to see it. Go camp out on the live feed of the International Space Station. Go watch for 24 hours. As the ISS circles the Earth you should see the Earth displayed as a thin line every 12 hours; if it were flat. This does not happen and thus the Earth is a globe. Question: What if it circled the Artic on flat earth? Wouldn't you see the same oceans and continents? Not possible since orbital mechanics require a circular stable orbit to have its rotation center coincident with the center of the earth, otherwise it would crash into the earth. There is a delicate balance between orbital velocity and altitude required to obtain a stable orbit. |

Are you dumb and blind? Did you not just read that I've been in the cabin of a airliner at 36,000 feet, unable to see the curvature? I've been to the top of more mountains than you have apartment buildings. lol A curvature has yet to be seen. I saw no curvature at 32,000 feet and the pilot confirmed what I saw. He has never seen the curvature in his entire career. I know, I know - I'm an idiot. Some people lack depth perception.
