Help Needed Medicating Kitty
This is very long, so I will ask the question first, and then explain, because this breed is NOT known to be your average, nor small kitties, and are VERY strong:

No. 1. or 4.
To be continued:

The question is:

How can I “thicken” this medication to “stick” on the eye, so that I can “rub” it in. This is, what I feel, needs to be done with this particular kitty, because there is no way he is going to change and let me, easily, do that eye.

I took PrettyBoy, Neva Masquerade, to the Veterinarian for an infected eye, which I couldnot normally cure. It was probably due to Cat-Scratch-Fervor (deadly, mean, tuff stuff to cure), due to a catfight [the offender in now in confinement for life, and isnot of my breed, anyway. MY kitties donot fight like that].

After Vet. was finished, he vehemently announced , “If he doesnot get well, BESURE to let me know”.

So he did not get “well” and I let him know:

I went into the office and dealt with “the intelligent-appearing gals at the desk, only,” never got to speak to the Vet, and asked for a medication that I could handle, because the liquid, eye-drops were next to impossible toget into his eye.

When I go to PrettyBoy’s cage and he sees the little bottle, he gets a look of Schizophrenia on his face and then, frantically tears for to hide in his kitty litter box. Yes, I have tried holding the bottle behind by back as I approach the cage, but he caught on to that trick within one and a half days, and is, now, irritatingly precocious.

oh LOOK, “points“:

No. 2. To be continued:
Once I finally struggle PrettyBoy out of his kittler-litter box, and wrestled him to the floor of his cage (he has to be in cage, because of his eye), he violently wiggles away; heading for the kittylitter box, and same old same old over again.

Somethimes I try to wrestle him up into a front corner and hug him to my chest, but he does all manner of calisthenics to constantly cause his assend to winds up in my face, and on and on and on with many variations of contortions; remembering, please, I only have two hands, and one of them is supposed to have the medicine poised and ready to insert. Yes? No! The medication has to be safely set aside to be safe from the absurd violence and antics going on in that cage.

Another method, which I donot like, because, in his eyes, makes me frighteningly alpha over him :
is to tether him and yank him around in such manner.

Humiliated and broken; he sadly, in crushed spirit, of a once, caring, maturely-proud, handsome guy, crumbles and reluctantly, somewhat responds to treatment, but, still, not, really, as there is still some sissy-fussing, causing the medication to be a negative application.

Anyway, as it stands: the cage is, now, quite “well”, thankyou, since that is where goes most of the medication, and I had to purchase another of same medication, because “the gals at the desk”, for whom I had to spell-out the word, “masquerade”, for them, said that was all they used, and they refused to get the Vet. to write me a prescription of for a “gel“, that I would beable to get to “stick”, and thus beable ti “rub” into the eye, instead of having the liquid just running right off from the side of the cage, or on my hand etc, where it landed in flight.

Re: Help Needed Medicating Kitty
if he needs it and youncant do it, have him stay at the vet and let them administer his medicine until its done...or until he is used to it enough to let you handle

i will say this though...if a cat senses fear from you....as in YOU ARE AFRAID...the cat may pick up on your fear

i pill by hand, start young and its easier to do, but it is a good thing to do (pill a vitamin, e.g.) to keep in practice

also DO NOT RUB ANYTHING INTO A CATS EYE....IF YOU WANT THE OINTMENT TO BE THICKER...REFRIGRATE IT (that is what i do with eye ointment, but i prefer administering liquid eye drops..it is easier)

G-d spoke all these words, to respond:
"I am the Lord, your G-d,
Who took you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
You shall not have the gods of others in My presence.
You shall not make for yourself a graven image or any likeness which is in the heavens above, which is on the earth below, or which is in the water beneath the earth.
You shall neither prostrate yourself before them nor worship them, for I, the Lord, your G-d, am a zealous G-d, Who visits the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons,
upon the third and the fourth generation of those who hate Me,
and perform loving kindness to thousands [of generations],
to those who love Me and to those who keep My commandments." ~ Exodus 20:1-6

"Woe to those who say of the evil that it is good and of the good that it is evil; who present darkness as light and light as darkness, who present bitter as sweet and sweet as bitter." ~Isaiah 5:20

Re: Help Needed Medicating Kitty
I REPEAT DO NOT RUB MEDICATION ONTO THE EYE......DO NOT TDO THAT TO ANY EYE.....FELINE, HUMAN, CANINE ETC.

you ned to gently hold his eye open and you need to make medicine time treat time...a happy time...dont just always get him to give him medication....you also need to REWARD HIM WITH A SCRUMPTIOUS TREAT ... tuna maybe? Whatever his favourite is ...AFTER GIVING THE MEDICINE.

i started by not feeding until after i had pilled or pseudo pilled with a vitamin or treat (for training purposes)....if not successful, of course food was still given.....rinse and repeat until successful
but
with any living being who needs medicine, get it in them...so, maybe the kitty needs to go to the vet and stay or you need a paid provider to come to your house (this is complicated though in case biting occurs, so i would just do the vet thing)

Re: Help Needed Medicating Kitty
the times I've had to give medication to my kitties I have wrapped them up tightly in a thick towel and once they were completely immobilized they stopped fighting it

my vet is really cool, he starts talking to them in this funny voice and they do anything he wants without a fight, shots, invasive tests, etc. he's like Dr. Doolittle
Forgive your enemies, it messes with their heads.

Thoughts create, mind them well.
