Re: Documentary - Requiem for the American Dream (Noam Chomsky)
OK, I wasted an hour and watched the whole thing.

It was exactly what I expected : NPR-style anti-American communist propaganda.

He says there was a wonderful wave of "democratization" in the US during the 1960's. His examples? All the America-hating, white-hating, far-left hjinks of brainless New Left assholes like himself.

News flash : 60's radicals were out to destroy democracy, destroy rights and freedoms, and destroy our country. They were Marxists who hated America, and they viewed America as the main obstacle to communism.

FACT.

Noam Chomsky is a washed-up far-left failure who has nothing of any value to say.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72181797

You are funny. How was the Vietnam war? Who was sending young men off to die? I think something like 55,000 young Americans were killed and more died after the war.
People like you are so funny.
Maybe America should become communist, then maybe you can buy lots of China like the Chinese are buying up the USA and other countries.
The USA debt is getting close to $20 trillion.
But hey that guy who won't even show his tax returns will save you. You know the GOP's pick for the election, Mr Trump.
Before you say it, she is as bad as Trump.
Hopefully you are getting paid to post here, if not you really need some help.

Ok, forget what I said earlier about dry and monotone.

That was excellent.

I don't see how regular visitors here who claim to know what's going on could disagree with much, if anything he said in the video.

Thanks OP. I'm glad I watched.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72159965

"The Communist Party of China (CPC)[a] is the founding and ruling political party of the People's Republic of China (PRC). The CPC is the sole governing party of China, although it coexists alongside eight other legal parties that comprise the United Front. It was founded in 1921, chiefly by Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao. The party grew quickly, and by 1949 the CPC had driven the Kuomintang (KMT) government from mainland China after a 10-year civil war, thus leading to the establishment of the People's Republic of China. The CPC is currently the world's second largest political party with a membership of 87.79 million as of 2015.

The CPC is, officially, organized on the basis of democratic centralism, a principle conceived by Russian Marxist theoretician Vladimir Lenin which entails democratic and open discussion on policy on the condition of unity in upholding the agreed upon policies. The highest body of the CPC is the National Congress, convened every fifth year. When the National Congress is not in session, the Central Committee is the highest body, but since the body meets normally only once a year, most duties and responsibilities are vested in the Politburo and its Standing Committee. The party's leader holds the offices of General Secretary (responsible for civilian party duties), Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) (responsible for military affairs) and state president (a largely ceremonial position). Through these posts the party leader is the country's paramount leader. The current party leader is Xi Jinping, elected at the 18th National Congress (held in 2012).

The CPC is still committed to communist thought and continues to participate in the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties each year. According to the party constitution the CPC adheres to Marxism–Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, socialism with Chinese characteristics, Deng Xiaoping Theory, Three Represents and the Scientific Outlook on Development. The official explanation for China's economic reforms is that the country is in the primary stage of socialism, a developmental stage similar to the capitalist mode of production."

Quit lionizing this guy.

From what I know of leftest "intellectuals" who support him, they are sometimes afraid of where he goes because reality does not match what chomsky says. They also feel that way about obama.

The vietnam war was mostly a lose situation for these guys.
They like the m.e. war though.

Chomsky has zero ability to recommend a fix, remedy or effective change. And his observations are only half the story.
Frankly, that internet cult leader Stephen Molyneux has (or HAD) better observations and better "solutions".

Watch the documentary. The documentary isn't something you can sum up in a couple sentences.

that's why it is all BS.

if it had a real point you could sum it up easily.

This is one of the best documentaries that I've seen in a long time.

I watched this also on Netflix. I was very impressed. He takes you step by step through what has already happened in this country, how they (tptb) did it as well as what is planned for the future. Well worth the watch. Very insightful information...

Re: Documentary - Requiem for the American Dream (Noam Chomsky)
The American dream is a fallacy, a work of fiction, something very few will ever have out of pure luck or maybe a little hard work.

It's false, it's fake, it's bullshit your masters tell you so you will sleep better at night and keep you a slave for them, for they, so they can eat lobster and fish eggs every night.

It's not real, the American dream is dead, it died a long time ago.

The only reason people still believe in this nonsense is due to the fact that nearly all of them are eating pills given to them by big pharma, to keep them dumb and "happy" and blind.
