It's her wedding. She can do whatever she pleases. If you are that offended, maybe you should stay away from weddings.

I already told My old lady that when We get married it will be at an Elvis chapel in Las Vegas. The whole idea of standing before a judge or a preacher is pretty stupid if You ask Me. The judge and the preacher act like they have the power to make us married when in reality it's the wife and I making a commitment that make us married.

Such curious how many posters have gone to any type of marriage counseling, Pastoral or secular, before tying the knot? College housemate's father was a Minister for the US Military. He sat down with all soon to be engaged couples and helped them discuss finances and draw up a budget, talk about sexual expectations and fidelity, dealing with in-laws expectations, etc. Always made marriages much stronger as couples learned how to communicate and negotiate challenges.

Another college housemate said all religious leaders in her city got together and said they wanted to cut the divorce rate and the stress on kids of unhappy parental relationships. Pre and post marital counselling was now required for all (except for Civil Marriages.)

Couples individually took one particular "test" that asked specific questions about their values and expectations of their partner, who would be handling bill paying and emergencies, frequency and type of sex, etc. Of course there are no right or wrong answers to any of the questions. The Pastor or Marriage counselor the couple choose would then compare the couples answers and point out differences they needed to discuss and resolve among themselves or with a 3rd party's assistance. It really works.

This woman lived / lives on Facebook. Her new husband is an old high school friend. She threw 20+ years of a marriage and kids down the drain for another chance to live a fairy tale and wear a white wedding dress. I used to think, wow, she sure does spend a lot of time on Facebook. I think the most tragic thing to see is the decent of someone's life from poor choices play out on Facebook. She went from happily married to 2nd marriage in just a couple of years. The laughable part is a woman over 45 wearing s white wedding dress to her second wedding. There is no purity the second time down the aisle, especially when you traded husband number 1 in for husband number 2.

And to get married so quickly after her divorce? Clearly she did not give herself enough time yo heal from pain of first failed marriage... But then that's a woman for ya....they seem heartless at times. No matter how bad she may have thought her first marriage was, she had over 20 years and kids with the 1st husband... That's worth fighting for.

Oh and I give her 5 years tops with second marriage. She'll be divorced again, especially since they both use Facebook.
