But I also have stopped being a completely self absorped and selfish person since having my son. And I love him more than life itself, and he is amazing to be around.

Honestly I understand your perspective, I loathed the idea of having a kid for a long time. But it is something that cannot be explained. I habe heard it described as finding a room in the house you never knew was there, and that is pretty close. You can't know until you do it.

I would have posted the same thing you did ten years ago. Absolutely. And if you choose not to be a parent, totally get it. But I wouldn't give one second of my son up for a life like I used to have. Honest answer.
