Why is it we fight so hard to be special, to be noticed?
Are we not enough for ourselves?

Innate need for grouping/bonding. Competition for resources. More attractive/talented are rewarded.


Why do people care about celebrities? Are they not enough for themselves?

Live vicariously through an idealized being/life. Beauty/youth/weath.


Why do people think that they can be the savior of mankind? Do they think mankind will welcome them with open arms?

Heroes journey is echoed in a common storyline/theme humanity enjoys as a common fiction.


Why do people think they are Jesus? Do they really think themselves that perfect?

Religion facilitates extreme mental illness by placing a blurry line between logic, reason and possibility. Lines between reality and fantasy become blurred and in a some cases, indestinguishable.


Why do people wait for the world to end? Are our lives really that sad?

A popular religion fiction which serves to prove faith in belief wasnt wasted time.


If the government is watching everybody, doesn't that mean we are all equally irrelevant?

Most behavior is very predictable.



Why do we tell stories of "Him" and "Her"? When we are just trapped in a machine...?

We're all living a multi thousand year fiction, of our own making. Self fulfilling prophesy.

I think the common link is human beings recognize their own uniqueness in the Animal Kingdom. We ARE set apart from all the other beings on this planet and that confuses and intrigues us. We reconcile the great question of 'What and Why am I' by pouring our energy into great works of human ingenuity. And its opposite of course.

One of those talents are that humans are fantastic storytellers. We want to see our fantasies play out, even IF we only do so vicariously through others and in the safety of our homes.

This is where mirror neurons come into play. Where if you see a person running on screen, the same parts of your brain will light up as if YOU were doing the running. That is why movies are fun.

Don't get me wrong. I love the fantasy world (obviously). I might even like it more than reality. I have always wished the fantasy world could be real. I do believe stories have all kinds of merit, and that the imagination should be cherished.

But it does seem like most people, not glp people but most people I know, aren't all that happy and so they seek anything and everything to distract themselves. You don't need to be a nobodytard to live in a fantasy world. People get that invested in all kinds of media and entertainment and mind altering substances. It's like a pick your poison kind of deal.

I guess we can only ever have our own experiences, and we are kind of the 'stars' of our own lives. Our own 'shows'. But so is everybody else. We are all only human. But we want to be something more.
