I like the concept. However Yin properties are not conducive with saving the self.
Yin is passive and Yang is active. Yin is dark and destruction. Yang is light and conservation.
If anything Yin will bring out the demons and make one face their worst fears. Yin will make everyone seek the light.
In appearances Yin will seem like the enemy. Yin will tear down the self. The false self gets destroyed in order to bring out the authentic self. That is if one survives the "enlightenment" process.

It has only just begun the chaos. It is for a reason though. What if all this chaos is Yin influence?
Deviants coming out of the closet so that Yin will either destroy them or send them to Yang. Send them to the light.

Yang indeed is Messiah savior and Yin is anti Messiah or anti savior.

Yin and Yang are a team. If one is to save themselves they have to go face both. First Yin and then Yang.
