I'm starting to look at abortion a little bit differently. Yes, morally it is wrong for an individual to do this...especially if it didn't stem from rape/incest.

But, take a look at the type of people who get abortions. Most are of lower socioeconomic status. In my opinion...we don't need those types bring more lowlife idiots into this world anyways. It's sad but true..:most people who are fucked up come from broken homes and kids who don't have a dad or know who their dad is.

Also...shit birth rate compared to death rate is something like 2:1 ratio. Eventually...we are gonna have a fucking problem with that for obvious reasons. I believe that eventually we will have to control birth rates because a lot more people are being born than dying. Overpopulation will use up resources and cause all sorts of problems. In short, we have too many damn people here and being born as it is.

I only have my experience to draw on about this issue, and from these experiences, I decided that abortion would not be the way to go for me should I ever get pregnant again.

1. Gave my only child up for adoption at the age of 16 in 1971. Oh, at that age I WANTED an abortion, but I was too far along by the time my parents confronted me about my changing body (I was in denial).

2. While married, I had a very painful miscarriage in the mid 80s. That was the experience that afforded me a measure of realization....that should this ever come up again (and it never did) - I would not abort. And that wasn't even a planned pregnancy.

It's not a religious thing for me. I do think it's wrong now when I didn't in the 70s. But, people choose their paths depending on the experiences they've been through and what they're facing.

Sometimes you just have to leave the consequences of someone else's decisions up to the universe and God.

It looks as though the thread writer is confronting the woman, not the other way around.
