Re: less food = higher state of consciousness
remember when you had a good day? you probably didnt think about food or drink that day. seeing food/drink as your source of happiness is the problem
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72269884

I think there is some truth in this. When you are bored and lacking direction, food is the answer for a lot of people. When you are engaged and active in a happy pursuit, hunger does not seem to arise as often. But when you are bored and depressed, hunger seems like your best friend, never leaving your side.

I wonder if consuming food causes our body to age. We have to consume life to live, but in that consumption of life, we age ourselves. The greater the amount of life we ingest, the shorter our time in this reality is. Life is life, whether it is meat or plant. There is no distinction.

those that do not know that they can exist without food, do not know their full potential

I've been figuring food is on the way out for me. I just basically eat light dinner now, and never three courses. No need for breakfast (cept some decaf) and lunch. I still eat some junk food though which keeps the pounds on.

Do you honestly believe you can live past a certain time, lets say 2 months, without food? During that time for this experiment you would need to maintain the same energy levels and activity you currently perform. I can understand that the body can moderate metabolism to conserve energy but that would be an almost immobile state.

Re: less food = higher state of consciousness
and the ego is so closely related to eating also

everyone these days eats out of boredom, or to feed their false sense of self

i think anyone that was truly living from outide of ego , awareness or spirit, probably would not be that bothered about eating anyway

[link to www.buddhisma2z.com]

"Once King Pasenadi came to the Buddha bloated and breathing in a laboured manner as a result of having eaten yet another enormous meal. Seeing this the Buddha said: `When a person is mindful and thus knows moderation in eating, his ailments diminish, he ages gently and he protects his life.'

good question, i think most people could easily do 3 weeks without any food, this would permantly raise their life energy, by which point they could move onto a lighter diet, of fruit or something, or even go on liquids for another 3 weeks. or the master cleanse. once things get too difficult, just go back to how you used to eat, this time eat a bit better. then after a while try again.

eventually you would be able to

look at [link to themastercleanse.org] , says on there a guy did this for a whole year

if you are doing some sort of energy practise as well, it shouldnt be a problem.

Re: less food = higher state of consciousness
Less food, not processed, seasonal & grown near your location

Everything feeds and process sunLight.

Food grown close to the place you live have develop with close to the same amounts on sunlight and in the same season that what you require, you end up eating less and being more satisfied.

You can also, for long periods of time live without food, and even gather energy from the sun. Complex to do for most on modern society.
If you are a hermit and live immersed in nature (a forest for example) and interact less with others your energetic convolution will be minimal. The ebb and flow easier to manage.

This is not a requirement, living & interacting among highly energetic, healthy and calm minded individuals is an exception.

Energy equalizes among the participants, a natural environment takes a big weight of it.

Do sungazing, first minutes at dawn and dusk.
While the colors are changing, it at-tune you.
The prismatic color change make your brain reset chemically-wise.

A wise man eats, sleeps (night prayers/meditation) and talks less

This makes for peace of body, soul & mind

Re: less food = higher state of consciousness
Yeah, for the last two years or so I believed in Breatharianism. I fasted for 30 days on nothing but water, felt awesome... then started eating again out of social pressure. A month or two later I started on a 30 day oranges only fast and felt great... I should have kept going but my resources ran out, that is literally the only reason why I stopped. I was on my own at Job Corps at the time and it was almost impossible to avoid, getting paid $25 every two weeks. Then I began to eat what they fed us, meat, just a little, and over the course of a few days it totally wrecked my health... my face developed permanent acne. Then I just... gave up, completely and for 6 months ate whatever I could get my hands on, I didn't care. I pushed my body to its limits of abusing it. In honesty, I think this belief brings more harm than good. One thing to point out is that when I first found out about Breatharianism is the same point at which I gave up on life. Breatharianism became the ideal, an life better than the one I had. FYI I lost everything (i.e. ruined my health) and am working hard to regain it.

Be very, very careful if you attempt it.

Re: less food = higher state of consciousness
I mean when I first heard about Breatharianism via Jericho Sunfire, "Why Do We Eat" it was at a time in my life where there was a food shortage and I wasn't being fed properly... so "pure" became my ideal. I gave up on wanting to eat. In life we have the choice to choose between greater evils an lesser evils. so I'm back to eating a variety raw foods in the hope that it brings me back to life. It is actually quite sad, once you lose something you will do nearly anything to regain it... but it seems like once lost it cannot be restored. We'll see.

My best advice to you is to simply maintain what you have.

im quite suprised how easier meditation is when iv been off food for a few days, it no longer appears in the mind as a distraction.

this is my plan

im gonna keep fasting for a while, keep reducing C.A.T.S and C.R.A.P . until i get to the point where i feel comfortable doing a private retreat somewhere in an attempt to discover the real Truth

id never try those kind of retreats whilst still on my usual diet

from detox book [link to www.truthkeeperz.com] detox

"When an individual changes his or her lifestyle and begins to eat a raw,
living-food diet, the body changes. The more raw food you consume, the
more your body becomes pure and healthy. You will reach a point where you
will not be able to eat pungent foods anymore."

iv found this to be true with things like coffe/tea/soda also recently. 30% juiced fruit / 70% water (like cordial drinks) tastes so much better now than these

is quitting cold turkey going to have to involve everything? including food and people, and well, all distractions there are alltogether????

Definitely. When I manage to stick to a regimen of only breakfast and a light, early supper I feel much healthier in body and mind. I can recommend it.

Damn you OP.

So I was sitting down to a wonderful meal of 3 large brats and an enormous potato fried up with onions. I got through 1/2 of the plate and this thread popped into my head. So I stopped 1/2 way through and wrapped up the rest. Ate it 5 hours later.

I will have to find a way to seduce gluttony back into my life.
