i am embarrassed for my country when the best and brightest of the world come to college here and are thrust into the center of social justice warrior-ville. and even the adults at college make no sense. like OP, these international students must have a warped idea of the typical non-immigrant, non-collegiate american.

Assimilate is for foreigners dumb-dumb. For muslims or the like who come to America and then try to indoctrinate Americans and America into their way of life. Like recruiting for ISIS.

If you come to America, assimilate - don't indoctrinate. As in learn english, follow the Constitution, be productive to society and be proud to be an American.
