Are you still knowingly or unknowingly ingesting aspartame (NutraSweet & Equal) read this NIH study!
Excerpts from the study:

"Aspartame, a widespread sweetener used in many food products, is considered as a highly hazardous compound."

"The artificial sweetener is broken down into phenylalanine (50%), aspartic acid (40%) and methanol (10%) during metabolism in the body." [methanol, you know anti-freeze a deadly poison]"The methanol metabolites cause CNS depression, vision disorders and other symptoms leading ultimately to metabolic acidosis and coma."

"Aspartic acid at high concentrations is a toxin that causes hyperexcitability of neurons and is also a precursor of other excitatory amino acid - glutamates." [watch out for supplements like magnesium aspartate]

"It contributes to the formation of tumors in the CNS such as gliomas, medulloblastomas and meningiomas. Glial cells are the main source of tumors, which can be caused inter alia by the sweetener in the brain."

Remember who the asshole who brought this shit to the market: Donald Rumsfeld under Ronald Reagan's admin.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHIT. READ THE LABELS. STAY AWAY FROM MSG TOO. (and vaccines, fluoride, aspartates, etc. etc. etc.)

However, when considering the potential total intake of aspartic ions arising from the diet and from a potential multi-mineral combination of all food supplements the exposure could add up to 29 g/day. In line with the SCF concerns, the Panel considers that the use of L-amino acids in food supplements should not give rise to a nutritional imbalance of the amino acids. Thus the Panel concludes that under these conditions aspartate ion exposure from a multi-mineral combination of this type could be of safety concern.

The Shocking Story of How Aspartame Became Legal

Brain tumors: Bad. Aspartame banned by the FDA.

In January of 1981 Donald Rumsfeld, CEO of Searle, stated in a sales meeting that he was going to “call in his markers” and make a push to get aspartame approved. That month Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President of the United States. His transition team included Rumsfeld who hand picked Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes Jr. to be the new FDA Commissioner.

Within a couple of months, Hayes appointed a 5-person Scientific Commission to review the claims on aspartame. In a 3 – 2 decision, the panel upheld the original ban, stating that the artificial sweetener was unsafe.
Aspartame: Banned twice by the FDA.

The icing on the cake: In 1985 Searle was absorbed by Monsanto. Donald Rumsfeld reportedly received a $12 million bonus. And the sad tale of fake food and experimentation on the human race continued onward.

Almost all gum whether sugar free or not contains aspartame.

I read a thread about a movement by the food industry
to have asparatame ADDED TO MILK and other dairy products.
Some milk producers already add sugar to milk--but asparatame
is incredibly cheap and they could substitute this
sweetener for the sugar and save tons of money.

To my knowledge this was never approved--but I didn't
see any follow-up threads or info on it, so I don't know
if it went through or not.

One way the asaparatame people "get around this" is to
constantly change the name of the sweetener so that people
who DO CHECK their ingredient labels won't recognize it
as the offending chemical. Right now, I believe they have
been going by the name of "sucralose"--and I have located
this chemical in several products which didn't list it
in the past.

Thanks for this thread, OP...this info needs to be
kept in our public eye for as long as it takes to get
this insanity STOPPED in the U.S.
