For those of you who've not visited California, the agricultural landscape consists of acres and acres of dying, brown crops. Environmentists are regulating how much water farmers are allowed to expend on their fields. They say that the water they're allowed is enough, but the growing Dust Bowl disagrees. As do the farmers. Naturally, a farmer is something of an expert at farming, but that's unimportant to the environmental regulators. They know better.

Meanwhile the government insists that there's too little available fresh water, despite the state's 3000 lakes and reservoirs. California doesn't want to build desalination pumps to take advantage of the ocean which lays adjacent it because the state's broke and such pumps are more expensive than alternatives, like treating sewage water and recycling human waste for public consumption. California also doesn't want to pump water from any more of its fresh water lakes because doing so wouldn't be "environmentally friendly." They don't want to damage California's natural beauty, and not to mention the poor animals which would be inconvenienced. They won't even commission interstate water pipelines to gather the resource out of state, because the situation is very profitable for a certain influential group.

Water isn't the problem. People are the problem. Stupid people. Greedy people. Power-hungry people. It's the same problem with everything else in this asylum we live in. Stupid people. Greedy people. Power-hungry people.

Cali has plenty of water, what they need is more dams/reservoirs to hold it -- they haven't built a new reservoir in 37 years, in that time the population has grown by 12.5 million, nearly 50%.

Just because on the surface a reservoir may look full, does not mean the underground aquifers have rejuvenated. These aquifers take many decades to fill and are being drained at an unsustainable rate.

Perhaps there are weather modifications being made to make the situation worse.

But the reality of it is, there are tens of millions of people living in a desert who waste water every day. There are large corporations siphoning off water to sell to you retarded chimps in plastic bottles. These lush communities you speak of are the reason the aquifers are being drained, this climate is not meant to support thousand acre golf courses, millions of green lawns, disgusting man made cesspools with their fountains, or your hour long showers and other massive wastes of water.

I'm beginning to think you climate science denialists are the true problem here. If you don't remember learning about underground aquifers in school, well, it's more than likely you never attended school. It's basic, well known, proven over hundreds of years, science.

One of the first things done by the Obama administration, in 2009, was to take farmers water away from them and send it into the ocean to save the delta smelt. Trillions of gallons later, the smelt are no better off; farmers are closing up shop, Monsanto and foreign interests are buying up the land, and food prices are as insane as the EPA. It is one of the most ridiculous and tyrannical government bullying I have ever witnessed and the repurcussions are far reaching, as intended.

Trump said he would take care of the situation posthaste.

Dams are ecological nightmares. They are what destroyed the once great salmon runs in this country, and if you want evidence of this, check out the history of the dams in Maine and how salmon populations have made miraculous rebounds after destruction projects have ensued for old dams.

They help drain aquifers, destroy habitat and river basins, and do not contribute to human society. Numerous studies have demonstrated their net harm to ecosystems and upon being removed significant benefit has ensued.

Just build fucking desalination plants and raise taxes so that in one move you increase the available water supply and drive out millions who shouldn't be there in the first place.

When its dry in mohave desert do people call it a drought? if in a state that averages as much annual rainfall in a year as we got here in kansas city last week.. its asinine to call it a drought. Califirnia averages about a rain storm a month which typically increases during el nino years. Theres less rain in la nina years. Its not a drought.. its called californoa weather. No one on the planet gets average rain and temperature everyday. It always comes in extreme highs and lows---fact.
