Next part is a small narrative, introducing a next period of history:

Rus' appeared
with her Kiev
- a rival of Constantinople -
on the world stage.
Thousand years ago
we attained
both high art
and high crafts -
the areas in which
there was no lag for the Eastern Slav culture.
Churches built in the 11th century
are still the architectural centers
of the old cities of Eastern Slavs:
St. Sophia's Cathedral in Kiev,
St. Sophia's Cathedral in Novgorod,
Transfiguration Cathedral in Chernigov.
No later churches and buildings
did overshadow those
built in the 11th century.

Is it comprehensible in such way? I want to preserver original phrasing as much as possible.
After this narrative there is a song for which I was able to find a proper translation, so it'll be a double release next time.
