Next is another narrative:

Russian state emerged more than a thousand years ago.
It grew stronger...

And, with the blessing of Sergius of Radonezh, defeated the invaders.

After that narrative is another song with pre-existing translation... but than it becomes really tricky. Some verses and songs that were either never translated to English or translated in a way that forced me to do it from scratch.

Hum, let's see. It's true, that one my friend (who is distinctly unpatriotic) is dissatisfied with the fact that lately I'm more centered on Russian culture and history. But that's the only example. As of lately I spend much of my free time studying Russian culture, learning new things as well as remembering things from school I've forgotten.



Yeah, I'm Pagan. Which in no way bars me from knowing and appreciating Christian heritage of my country.
As for deleting comments - I mostly do it to spam and things that are completely meaningless. Also - to clear trolling, which is the same thing.



Well, I have a thread in which I was several times suspected of not being really Russian. Usually on the ground of me not drinking alcohol. Accusing me of being a fraud on the ground that I seem a little too Russian is definitely something new.

I remember hearing a musical treasure was discovered. Sheet music of the Romanov's.

I know there was a concert for the songs but nothing released public.

I am deeply curious how the music sounds. Would LOVE to hear it.

The next one is really difficult to me. For number of reasons. Mainly because it's a double translation either way - a part of ancient "Tale of Igor's campaign" in modern adaptation. Meaning that it was first translated to modern Russian, from which I'm translating it to English. That's the reason, why I can't just take English translation of the tale, since it was made using original.

Over the broad bank of the Danube
Over the great Galician land
Cries, having reached from Putivl,

"Poor me, I'll turn into cuckoo,
Along the Danube river I will fly
And my beaver-trimmed sleeves

Wailing at dawn in Putivl,
Like the cuckoo in the early spring,

You drove through in the Polovitsian lands,
You brought Svyatoslav into distant campaigns
To the Kobyak's regiments.
Master, please take care of the Prince.
