The exact polar opposite of the intention of the constitution.

State has declared its required religion as "no religion" and forcing students to comply.

The actual intention is the state may not declare a required religion nor deprive one of worshiping as they chose.

Prayer and/or religion was taken out of schools to ensure that we, as Americans, continue to enjoy fully, the protections garrenteed to us through the 1st Ammendment to our Constitution.

If you let the Bible people do their bible thing, then you have to let EVERYONE do their EVERYTHING without prejudice.

The BEST solution to ensuring these protections are upheld, is to take religion and religious practices out of the secular educational system.

Some people get upset by this, but it is and was the best decision both then and now to take religion out.

Sure, in history class students will learn ABOUT other religions as well as Christiany and how those shaped our world.

It would be hard to teach history without religion...

Sharing religious material is prostaltising and it just cannot be allowed in school.

It opens the floodgates of dumbfuckery.

I am sure that some of the professionals who had to deal with this situation may have had their own personal beliefs challenged in having to carry out this order but it really IS for the future protection of our freedom of religion.

It is not an issue up for debate. It has gone before the various state supreme courts and the US Supreme court and the answer has always been the same.

Some states allow a moment of silence at events or whatever, but that is about it.

It's all hunky dory if a little Christian girl is doing this...and all the Christians see her as a Christ Ambassador or some shit, but...

If some kid was passing out Muslim tracts or reading the Koran or Zohar or Book of the Dead or the Satanism Bible (assuming one exists) it would be a lynch mob mentality.

That's the beauty of our living Constitution...

What if the police officer immediately slammed the principal of that school and whoever else had a problem with this behavior right to the ground,handcuffed them and arrested all for violating constitutionally protected rights. Wouldn't that be a change of scenery.
