Quoting: Aquagrass I googled a similar problem and this was the answer. Ass Holes. Like anyone has time to do this crap, ___________________________________________________________ So there actually is a process Debbie to get a page removed or to take control of it. I was able to get through to Facebook through various means/connections to figure out what to do. I'm not sure how to create a ticket to start the process, but once you get that (it was created for me) the process looks something like this: 1. A copy of a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a current driver's license or a passport, of the individual signing the statement. See the different kinds of IDs we accept in the Help Center: [link to www.facebook.com (secure)] 2. A notarized and signed statement from a person with sufficient knowledge and authority over this matter that includes all of the following: a) A description of your relationship to the Page (and authority to request a change in the person(s) who manage the Page, as applicable); b) The name of the current person(s) who manage the Page, as applicable; c) The relationship of the above person(s) to the Page; d) An explanation of your request, and whether there has been a termination of the employment and/or business relationship with the named person(s), as applicable; e) All documentation supporting your request; f) The Facebook account or email address associated with the Facebook account (or Timeline) that you wish to have added as the new admin of the Page; and g) A declaration under penalty of perjury that the information you have provided is true and accurate (your statement must include this language). thank you. I didn't remove the page because I understand the system. they would just put it back up again... without my knowledge. this is some fucking scam with Facebook. really. my company was kept separate for legal purposes and now they've linked me to it. so to remain private I have to beat the system and take my own precautions. I already told you what to do, sue them! If you can't figure out how to do that are any of your business's logo or names copyrighted? If so and they use any of them sue the shit out of them!!! If not copyright them... there is no logo, just the name of the company, address, and phone number. it's a marketing ploy. they are trying to help small business grow. in my case... I don't need that, don't want that, and privacy is important. I'm just perplexed about the ease in which FB collects data. it's mindblowing. |

Quoting: nikki nikita I've been wondering how solicitors have been getting my phone number and now I know. thanks facebook, bastards. You need to use an Avatar name on Facebook just like you do here. My FB name is my first and middle name - and does not contain my last name. I utilize Facebook primarily as an alternate email service for the rather smallish group of people I have listed as my friends. I also have liked certain pages that post articles and news so its sort of like a newsfeed of information with some input from people I know sprinkled in. I do not post my personal business. I do not post selfies. I do not brag up the kid. I use it as a communication device and news feed. It can be a resource like email but you have to be smart about how you use it. But the IP address and the computer ID number are recorded and it is not difficult for data brokers to match that information with other online identifiers. There are firms that specialize in doing it. Steve Kroft: So you can combine this data with other data that's available and figure out who someone is? Ashkan Soltani: That's right. nikki nikita (OP) User ID: 71071950 ![]() 06/07/2016 10:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the point is about privacy. back in the day it was easier to stay out of the network of corporate America. now technology has given corporations access to all records. Freedom of Information Act, which is a good thing has it's drawbacks. it allows people free access to government documents, and allows people free access to everyone's documents. this is a transparent society. if America has an enemy they can access these documents too. because law does not limit who can access, transparency can be harmful. drawing that line between personal transparency takes some knowledge about US Law. |
