it is a mess to live with. therapy can help, but it is no guarantee they will become 'whole' in the mind again. it makes you understand just how much trauma a person goes through as a child and the splitting of the mind is a survival mechanism. in some cases the personalities are not aware of each other. in others they are aware. i havent read any books. ive lived with a partner that has did. there are good days and bad days.
