You will need to call a constitutional convention, get 2/3 of the states to cooperate, then pass it around to all of them for ratification.

Fortunately more than half the country disagrees with gun control now. And with each new attack more are against gun control because they know the police cannot protect them and you can't keep guns out of criminal hands no matter what is done.

If any amendment changes were easy the Liberals would not have to use the Judiciary to change things to their favor. It is very difficult to change the Constitution as it should be!

The Second Amendment has failed many times. Three examples:

1. The NSA is violating our right against unreasonable searches.

2. During WW2, the government arrested thousands of Italian/Japanese/German American families, many of whom had been in the country for several generations, and at gunpoint forced them into internment camps, thus violating their right to a fair trial, among other things.

3. In 1798, President Adams signed into law the Sedition Act, under which Americans were fined and imprisoned for speaking negatively against Congress or the President. Men were imprisoned for merely publishing essays that were deemed "too critical" of Adams. Inspired by the then-recent French Revolution, the American public was increasingly calling for an overthrow of what they perceived to be a "tyrannical" federal government.

In all three of these examples, the Second Amendment FAILED.

The Founding Fathers were well-intentioned, but we have two centuries of hindsight over them. As it turns our, the tyrant's greatest fear is not "an armed populace." (Ask Hussein.) As the Arab Spring has demonstrated in no uncertain terms, the tyrant's greatest fear is public protest. Millions of citizens protesting a corrupt government is more powerful than any gun can ever be.

Let's repeal the first, allow a state-run theocracy, require all Americans to be indoctrinated in old-time Christianity (solves the Muslim problem instantly and another problem or two and, after a generation brought up thoroughly indoctrinated with "though shall not kill . . . fellow citizens of the theocracy" and with the concept of eternal suffering for any transgressions, solved a lot of the current social problems in the US), and make it illegal to say anything negative about the theocracy.

There is only one way to repeal the 2A and that's to call a Constitutional Convention. The States themselves or Congress can call for one. Once a Constitutional Convention is called every single Amendment is on the table. If means everything and anything can be changed. It would open the door for all kinds of unintended consequences. Imagine they get a Convention and they want to repeal the 2A, well a majority of States would have to agree on that. And what if a majority of States instead proposed just starting another country with 50% of the States leaving the Union? Because that could happen in a Constitutional Convention. They could make an Amendment for anything as well, protests, riots, bathrooms, money for agitators a crime, you name it. Hell, in a Constitutional Convention they could literally ban blonde haired people from voting if 75% of the States agreed to it. And remember, with a States called Convention each State gets a vote. It doesn't matter State population. Rhode Island would have as much a pull as Texas. Wyoming voting power would be equal to California. It would get real dicey real fast. Quite literally there might be enough States to make an Amendment declaring what marriage is. Liberals need to think long and hard about calling for a constitutional convention at a time when there's huge support to resisting their goals and it's tied to a lot of resentment against them. It would be extremely dangerous for them to open the doors when States are fed up with the Federal Government encroaching on States Rights.

That's why I say do it. Because there is no way the 2A gets repealed in a Convention, but the alternatives might very well destroy everything the leftist agenda has going.
