You'd have better luck predicting three days of darkness.

I travel the country for a living, trump is going to win by a landslide.

You have no idea how angry people are.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37458144

Do you? I bartend at a hotel and talk with thousands of people from all over the country. Most of those are business travelers who are generally white men, mostly republicans. Some support him, most are embarrassed by him. That's your voting bloc. The majority of white republicans do not share your extremist and white-nationalist views.
 Quoting: HarryHood

No, it's you who make false assumptions.
I'm not white.
I'm not republican.

You stay in one place, and a certain type of person comes to you. At a bar...
Meet any non alcoholics at your job?

I talk with people from all walks of life, from billionaires to illegal immigrants.

I know plenty of black people who support trump's platform.

Bartender at a hotel, lol.

You are real good source of info.

Minimum wage plus unclaimed tips for your welfare and foody stamps.

You just outted yourself idiot.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71151054

I claim all of my tips. I make around 55k a year. Not a lot, but enough. I have a bachelor's degree. I paid for it myself. I receive no government assistance. Nice try, though.
 Quoting: HarryHood

Allegedly.

But like so many things on the net you are BSing for shillary and you know. Copying and pasting what so many shillary supporters have posted today.

Oh shit trump is winning, "the demographics and nbc polls are against him, not even the republicans support him anymore," is the tactic today.

Thread: Paul Ryan and the Elite get their way... TRUMP LOOSES.... They are changing the 1st vote rule...Hillary will be elected.... unless....

As do I. I work at a nice hotel in a medium sized city, not a dive bar. Very few alcoholics, many types of people. I've travelled plenty, including to some "third world" countries which tends to change the way you think. I didn't mean that you specifically were a white-nationalist idiot, I apologize for that.

like it or not, op is right, its a hard pill to swallow.

trump is doing fairly well with hispanics, and even asians in one poll. Not many assians vote tho

its gonna be a close race, might even be a recount, but i think trump will beat clinton
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71906588

OP is not right for a number of reasons.

First, Older People vote at a higher rate than other groups. Older People are more white than the country as a whole.

Educated people vote at a higher rate than other groups. Educated People are more white than the country as a whole.

consider the last 6 Presidential elections. The OPs propaganda masters tell him that Dems have won 4 out of 6 and this is indicative of a trend. What they dont tell him, is that both times Bill Clinton ran, he was able to win with under 50% of the vote, because the right wing vote was split by the original 'Tea Party' guy, Ross Perot. Actually, the Conservative vote surpassed the liberal vote.

So, actually 2 out 4 were won by the Ds. But notice that both of those elections were by a black candidate. This had a remarkable effect: Black Turnout at 70%+ (and higher Hispanic turnout to boot).

Black turnout will be much much lower for HRC. Youth turnout will be down. Actually her only hope would be to select a black VP candidate. Short of that, we can expect her to do about as well as her more educated, more intelligent, more clever, more likable, better speaker, quicker-witted Husband did the first time he ran: 43%.

Educated people also vote democrat at a much higher clip. As your education level increases, from high school diploma to doctorate and each step between, party affiliation leans more strongly democrat. Don't take my word for it, it's factual.

The fact that four of the last six elections went democrat is not what creates a trend. I could say the last republican to win outside of an extreme wartime environment was Bush in 2000 and he didn't even win the popular vote. That doesn't matter though - the trend is that typical republican voting segments are declining, and typical democratic voting segments are growing. White men from 45% of voters to 35% from Reagen to GWB is just one example of that. Minority groups are higher every year. Those
without religious affiliation as well. Those are just a few examples.

That's the point. Republicans can't win anymore nationally by riling up their base. They need to expand their base. Trump isn't doing that. It gets worse from here as well. Texas will be a swing state within twenty years. And trust me, there will be a third party candidate as well this time as in your example from the 90s.

Everything I've posted in regards to the demographics is real information. It has no politcal bias.

College graduates: dem / leaning dem has a 12 point advantage

If the data is considered from a historical perspective, it can be seen that up until 2004, 'educated' voters swung in both directions, each side having about an equal amount of time as the majority. Then there is a disconnect between the two sides for the next 10 years until the data ends at 2014. The majority of that last 10 years was 'Obama-mania' so that can easily account for the skew. The data ends in 2014, so there is nothing currently published by this one source. As pointed out, we have no way of knowing the age of thosed polled and how soon after graduating from school they were asked. If you go down to the data showing ages of voters and how they vote, it clearly shows that the older a voter gets, the more likely they are to vote republican- reflecting the comments about wisdom from experience leading to a conservative voter.

Party identification TRENDS you idiot.

Party Identification Trends, 1992-2014

By the way...

1939-2014

For more than 70 years, with few exceptions, more Americans have identified as Democrats than Republicans. But the share of independents, which surpassed the percentages of either Democrats or Republicans several years ago, continues to increase. Currently, 39% Americans identify as independents, 32% as Democrats and 23% as Republicans. This is the highest percentage of independents in more than 75 years of public opinion polling. I think the skew could also be explained as educated people waking up after the shape our country was in after eight years of bush. And while the number of those leaning republican does increase with each further generation, all but the oldest age demographic still are majority dem. Even the "silent generation" only leans republican by two points. Regardless, thank you for engaging in a thoughtful debate and not hurling slurs and assumptions.
