Well looks and first impressions are always important in a social environment, I really wouldn't go as far to say they are they fundamentals of life haha. maybe you just lack in confidence.

Everything has a vibration/frequency. If you feel like your not dressed well or that you might stuff up a first impression then it might not be due to your lack of dress sense and/or lack of confidence, but if you believe this so strongly in your mind you will give off that frequency which in return will lead to not leaving a good impression.

You know how you can sense when someone is sad or the tension is high in a room? It's because it really is thanks to frequencies. Apply that logic to everything you know and you will stop bad language habits and also interpret the world differently.
