Dogs become an echo and mirror of their owners to as much a degree as their brains can accomplish. It can be a lot. There is a tremendous heart-to-heart handshake going on. Why it feels like you got a piece of your heart torn out.

Because that is exactly what happened.

Replacement therapy IMMEDIATELY. Get another puppy to love.

Aww, so sorry to hear about your doggie...she sounds like she was beautiful! Did anyone in your family keep a pup or do you know where any of them went? Perhaps you could always get a pup out of one of them at some point to keep a part of her with you.

I don't get it. How can the lose of a dog bring on so much pain and tears? I've been harden by life but when my old boy passed I fell apart. He was Gods perfect creation. Reading about your lose brings back so many vivid memories. I bought a new little Boy right away and I gave him the same name but it will never be the same. I'm so sorry but I have to tell you, there will be an empty, aching place in your heart for the rest of your days.

It's better this way. They don't have to mourn for you.
