Fury Fatigue
Having heard today's news of Sec. Def. Ash Carter announcing that transgenders are EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY allowed to serve in our nation's armed forces openly, I found myself almost laughing. My grandfather's both wore the uniform in WWII, my father served, and I served. And all I could do was laugh. I knew it was coming. And I was right..yay for me again. Ive been right too often of late, and it is no comfort at all. I suppose my point is that being "awake" and on top of the news everyday, while being informed, has dulled my outrage at the daily onslaught of outrages against my values and the country I volunteered to serve.
"The sick individual finds himself at home with all other similarly sick individuals. The whole culture is geared to this kind of pathology. The result is that the average individual does not experience the separateness and isolation the fully schizophrenic person feels. He feels at ease among those who suffer from the same deformation; in fact, it is the fully sane person who feels isolated in the insane society and he may suffer so much from the incapacity to communicate that it is he who may become psychotic."
