The militarization did start prior to recent events. The federalization... the transitioning of power from the local level to the federal government, has been Barry's wet dream since he's been in office. No more sheriffs telling him to fuck off when he's infringing on the 2nd Amendment. He can finally have that civilian police force larger than our military that he's always talked about.
