You are correct in what you say, before the internet this kind of propaganda couldn't be pushed without somebody catching it. Hiding behind anonymity allows people to indoctrinate an otherwise naive youth using the most effective and nasty techniques available.

Most people have always been this dumb. Many can hide it well in conversation but give them a pen and paper and ask them to work out a few sums and they're screwed.

OP I agree with you (not so much on the point that others might be stupid, as often there are very literate types who lack common sense/street smarts/reasoning), though your whole premise is very true.

I can't comment on the BLM perspective, but I would add, language/words are used every single day by the 'TPTB' as a tool, if not outright weapon. You see it all the time in the english media; the weazel-word, ambiguous terms that leave things open in their favour or are designed not to recriminate etc.

So it is of utmost importance that every word and term is considered in relation to the intended (or implicated) or hidden message.

It starts with people taking responsibility of their own words and understanding grammar (and using it accurately) in order to take action or really understand what is going on.

That said, there are still many very smart people who might not have a strong command of English grammar, but generally yes...it does help people's causes by being absolutely clear in message, which in turn means grammar matters.

If you feel slighted because of your own lack of literary competency, I suggest that you doing something about it
