And yet, none of these "open carry non-heroes" were killed, so I'd say it worked for them. Where in the open carry rule book does it say that it is my responsibility to stop a mass shooting? My responsibility ends at myself and my loved ones. Anyone else saved by me is just and added benefit.

Every private citizen that chooses to carry concealed or open in Texas should be calling the Dallas mayor out for his irresponsible comments. This narrative that anyone without a badge but has a gun could be a bad guy has already been debated and debunked before they even passed open carry in Texas. Anyone in Texas that holds political office and shares this view is injecting an opinion that the facts do not support. Licensed private weapon permit holders commit crimes at a lower rate than off duty law enforcement nationwide.

The implication that law abiding gun owners are culpable in any way of the deaths of the officers that were gun downed by a racially motivated murderer is repulsive. If you are still supporting any notion that it is the gun and not the man behind it you are part of the problem. If you take the position that knowing there were likely hundreds of concealed weapons in Dallas that night but seeing one AR-15 being legally carried by a black man in the crowd added to the deaths you are part of the problem.

And finally - if you buy the false narrative claim that licensed private citizens carrying did not engage the shooter when there were dozens of law enforcement responding and engaging the shooter and therefore guns don't keep people safe proves you have never been trained in the usage and laws that law abiding gun carriers adhere to. While we will and are legally allowed to use our weapons in the defense of others, including law enforcement. I don't hear anyone except the leftists and the racists entertaining this false narrative.

We are not carrying because we want to become action heroes you moron. We carry to protect our families. The reason why law abiding citizens support Law Enforcement is because we recognize the sacrifice they make to hold back the wave of violence and crime committed by the wolves in our society. Under the conditions that played out in Dallas, I see nothing less than bravery and courage. Law abiding gun carriers retreating from the scene while law enforcement engaged him is reasonable and rational. Dismissing that all the supposed Black Lives Matters supporters that were chanting - back up back up, we want freedom freedom, all these racist ass cops we don't need em need em are not the larger chaos contributors than law abiding gun carriers is grossly naive or dishonest.

How about we have an honest conversation about BlackLivesMatters, NBPP, BAMN, Occupy, ANTIFA, The Democratic Party supporting all of them and the broader violence we have seen across the country against the sheepdogs in blue.

I stand with those brave men and women on that thin blue line.
