“I’ve always said, if you run for president, you shouldn’t be allowed to use teleprompters,” Donald Trump, now the presumptive Republican nominee, said back in October. “Because you don’t even know if the guy is smart.”

That was then.

Now, Donald is regularly using teleprompters during his speeches as he attempts to assume a more presidential front ahead of the general election. And he’s right, I don’t even know if the guy is smart.

He is new at teleprompters, now that he has flipped and decided it's ok to use them when running for president. You can tell when he’s scripted, more than you can tell with any other politician. Because until recently, Trump’s public statements were defined by their fluidity. He free associates, he talks off the cuff, he speaks in starts and stops and run-on sentences, or no sentences at all.

During his speech about veterans in Virginia Beach on Monday, teleprompter-Trump carefully pronounced each word like he was trying to make sure Siri could understand his commands.

My favorite and most bizarre Trump teleprompter reading was this one:

Trump, who of course is on his third marriage, said that one of his goals as president would be to reinforce “marriage and family as the building block of happiness and success.

“So important,” he said, then added, “The happiest people are the people that have that great...religious feel and that incredible marriage.”

Well, ok, sure his handlers wrote that for him to read, but I guess he should know!

Wait, this one was kinda weird and plastic fake too.

Did he miss a line as it scrolled by?

Verbatim from his teleprompter:

“It’s really the people who go to church, who work and who work in religious charities. And share their values. These are the foundations of our society. We must continue to forge our partnership with Israel and work to ensure Israel’s security.”

It was almost as though a sentence from a foreign policy speech somehow got dropped into the middle of a set of remarks on religious freedom, and Donald, Ron Burgundy-like, just read right through it.

yup. i live in Indianapolis. Had CSPAN radio playing during my drive back from Detroit-istan. it was pretty pathetic. I don't see how they can let her get away with saying the exact same thing to each question. she went completely on Comey's referral, but doesn't want to take his statements at face value. madness.

near the end one REB from i believe it was TX said she repeated the same answer more or less she could not comment and give an answer 74 times. 74 times !
