One God, many religions. One Reality, many paths. Where do you stand?
To the orthodox adherents of the various religions, the idea of One God works as long as it's their own, but they reject all others as distinct and inferior. In constant disagreement with other religions and with other sects within their own based on doctrinal differences, they insist that their way alone is correct and declare all other approaches incorrect.

To the esoteric adherents of the various religions, the idea is that God is a Reality that is beyond name and form. They accept that knowledge of and access to this Reality is available to all, regardless of their particular religion. Realizing the similarities of direct experience, they dismiss the differences of name and form and embrace the Reality beyond these differences.

Which camp do you align with?

It depends on what you mean. One can empty consciousness of the contents rising and falling within it, but consciousness itself is not emptied. But it is true that our experiences and cultural context will color that which we perceive. This is why when people have an experience of the divine, they unpack that experience using the expressions and beliefs of that context to relate it to others. The expressions may differ even when the experience is virtually the same.

I don't know the Christian faith, but I do know of many competing sects proclaiming to be the one true faith. That right there speaks of a problem.
