Stories are creations whether from fiction or true events which kind of goes with the story of the universe. Newton says time was separate from space like railroad track stretching to infinity in both direction. Everyone has some scale of native immunity(protection). When a sickness by a new creature comes into contact to another creature unknown of the plants and eating habits of the other creature there is no native immunity built up within the system to protect against their pathogens or venom.
