- No one wants to engage in a trade war.
- Apologies.
Joanna Chang.
- Tobias Koh.
- Tobias was just saying how the current tariff situation with other countries is pushing international investment - towards Canada.
- So Canadian law firms with international merger and acquisition experience - are suddenly very interesting.
- I heard that that's your expertise.
It's why you're the only firm I'm talking to outside of Toronto.
Back at CTS, it was my bread and butter.
[CELL PHONE RINGING] Joanna helmed a huge merger between a Canadian and Taiwanese paper mill.
Well, she was on the team.
One that also included her very accomplished father, I might add.
He'll be hard to live up to.
I was lead counsel.
- Excuse me? - On that merger.
The Canadian forest product company had 19 paper mills That's all very impressive, but I'm not clamouring to get a piece of Canada's forestry industry.
I hear you, Canada's energy sector is a given.
We need to capitalise on industries that are most affected by the recent tariffs on American goods.
Agriculture.
An international merger in this sector would position you to outbid American competitors.
Big words for such a little lady.

What the hell is going on here? Look, I'm trying to save you so you can save us.
The distress call.
That was you? What are those things? Those "things"are us.
[LOUD BANGING AND SNARLING] Okay, we should be safe in here.
[DOOR CREAKS CLOSED] Okay, I need one of you to tell me right now why that distress call was sent, why I just lost one of my cadets Wait, wait, you guys are cadets? Even the Zatarian? You got a problem with that? [COUGHS] This is a research facility.
Strictly built for special projects.
Special, as in off the grid.
Forging bacteria strains? At a level you wouldn't understand.
What does any of this have to do with what we were just attacked by? [BENNINGS] Some experiments fail.
Some failures are catastrophic.
[ELECTRICITY CRACKLING] [ROARS] What is really going on here? [BENNINGS] We've all been infected.
Dr.
Palmer got hit before any of us, so we've been watching him, trying to better understand.
The strain incites a series of alarming mutations.
It suppresses the higher brain function and stimulates the more primal one.
How long did this metamorphosis take? The length of the cycle is unpredictable.
Whereas the stages remain consistent.
In just a few hours, a once brilliant mind has been reduced to one singular, horrific drive.
To eat.
Eat what? Whoever they get first.

Is there any way to synthesize an antidote to reverse the infection? Well, yeah, that's what I've been trying to do.
I just need to get to my lab so I can continue my work.
There is no cure.
Guys, I found something.
Ralen's sample is negative.
No infection detected.
They know something.
What are you not telling us? I am not infected because I am Zatarian? Is that it? Yes.
Yeah.
It's It's your Zatarian blood.
Its makeup differs from that of humans.
So it responds to certain strains, bacterias, in very different ways.
[MAGDA] It's true.
Different species respond differently to pathogens.
Look, if you survive, the less you know, the better.
Pilar, I need you to get on the datastream and find out everything you can about this outpost.
The entire research outpost is off the grid.
It's completely severed from the datastream.
It's like it doesn't even exist.
Pilar, what if I were able to network you over a local node onsite.
Could you hack the mainframe's encryption protocols? You already know the answer.
It's a private stream.
Government-level encryption.
Top-level security.
You'll never Clearly, you've never met Pilar, Doctor.
No.
Jax.
I'll go.
I'm in command.
It's my responsibility.
[COUGHS] In your condition, you'll never make it.
It's not your responsibility to get yourself killed Commander.
I will go with her.
Fine.
But watch your backs.
Watch your fronts.
You can't hack the mainframe if you're dead.

I've activated a local network hub.
Can you access a local node now? Attempting to establish a connection.
They weren't kidding, Jax.
This is some major league encryption.
This is no ordinary research outpost.
Can you break it? - It's not working.
- It has to work, Pilar.
Xander doesn't have much time left.
I know.
I'm trying, okay? Pilar, can you hear me? Pilar, can you hear me? Answer me.
Pilar, are you all right? Do you copy? Pilar! [ELECTRICITY CRACKLING] [SNARLS] I've run the simulation ten times.
Everything tells me the antidote should work, but it's not.
There's something they're not telling us, sir.
[JAX] Pilar, can you hear me? Answer me.
- Pilar.
- [GASPS] It's okay, Jax.
I'm all right.
Unfortunately, you're not.
What is it? This isn't an EarthCom research outpost.
It's a classified biochemical weapons facility owned by Parallax Galactic.
What kind of weapons? [RALEN] Jax you need to see this.
Oh, my God, Ralen.
They're all Zatarian.

Soul connection or not, sex for me is just a biological function.
A pleasurable one that I've enjoyed fulfilling with men, women, and many other alien species.

How could you experiment on the Zatarians? You're supposed to be doctors.
You swore an oath to do no harm.
They were already dead when we got them.
What were you doing with them? Don't tell them.
Answer her question.
[BENNINGS] You're under orders.
It's classified.
Wipe out the Zatarians.
That was the objective.
One, aggressive, lethal infection that humans wouldn't be susceptible to, and that also would not appear to not be responsible for.
The irony is, Zatarian biology is similar to humans, but strangely responded differently to our pathogens.
Our attempts had the opposite results.
Now, the only ones in danger of being wiped out are humans.
I should kill you where you stand for what you tried to do to my people.
Stand down, Ralen.
Did Pilar manage to penetrate the mainframe network? Yes.
We have a bigger, more immediate problem.
This entire facility is owned by Parallax.
They have a ship en route here as we speak.
[CHUCKLES SOFTLY] Well, that's no rescue ship.
That's a cleanup ship.
They'll recover whatever research they want to keep, and then they'll incinerate this entire outpost from orbit.
Including us.
If the infection doesn't get us first that Parallax ship will.
[DEVICE BEEPING] You said Zatarian biology was unaffected by the pathogen, right? More than being unaffected, Ralen's blood cells seem to be outright killing the infection.
I think what you've been missing this whole time is a living, breathing Zatarian sample.
It appears the only good Zatarian is not always a dead Zatarian after all.
It's possible the antibodies in Zatarian blood may be what we need to potentially reverse the infection.
[COUGHS] You set out to end all Zatarians, and now only a Zatarian can save you from ending yourself.
Who says the universe doesn't have a perverse sense of humor? [NORRIS] I still need to get to the main lab, and then maybe we can synthesize a cure.
I did not say I would give my blood.
You wished to commit genocide against my entire race.
And now you expect me to save you.
Xander [COUGHS] you need to order him to give his blood.
Otherwise, we all die here.
Then we all die.
It's his choice.
I can't make it for him.
[DEVICE BEEPS] I think I found something, Commander.
I just ran the infection test again, and I can't explain it.
I thought it was a mistake at first, but Jax's sample is also negative.
No infection detected.
[SIGHS] There's no sign of anything.
No no infection.
She's in perfect health.
How is that even possible? If we had longer, I could study the bloods further.
But for now we can just say it's a miracle.
Call it whatever you want.
We don't have time to worry about this.
A Parallax ship is en route to vaporize this place.
Your blood, your call, Ralen.
We're with the commander.
We support whatever you decide to do.
I will assist you because you are my friends.
And it's what any honorable commander would do.
But I do not have to like it.
Jax Jax neither you nor Ralen are infected.
[COUGHS] You don't have to do this.
Just be here when we get back.
Is that an order, cadet? You bet your ass it is.
I don't have much time left myself.
I need your scientists to come with us and help me in the lab.
On it, sir.

Speaking of observing, over the years it could be seen as clever posting skills through music and/or word, videos, phrases and combos, to express through supernatural to give meanings covertly or indirectly to direct target(s). Usually done when direct communication fails or gaming an audience or compartmentalizing people none the wiser.
It’s never clever and is always childish behavior no matter the supernatural or ability expresses.

Re: Duat do what
In the frontier, there was a story worth telling of a woman named Inez. Prohibited by laws in USA, there was a time when traders collected unlawfully.

“Next day they were summoned before the commissioner to account for their possession of the girl, and their intentions as to her future disposal. Next morning the traders respectively gave their names as Peter Blacklaws- a very appropriate nomenclature- Pedro Archeveque, which, being translated, means Peter Archbishop- a very inappropriate name-and Faustin Valdes. The testimony extracted from these men was extremely conflicting, but the tenor of it went to show that they were engaged, with some fifty others, in unlawful barter and trade with the Indians, selling them powder and arms, probably, in exchange for female Mexican captives of attractive persons, horses, skins, etc.

Mr. Bartlet felt fully authorized to deprive them of the captive, but having no authority to punish the scoundrels, they were released; they were immediately afterwards waited upon by several gentlemen of the Commission, who gave them to understand that any delay in getting out of that place would be attended with imminent danger. In less than twenty minutes that had left the Copper Mines, poorer but wiser men.

The young captive gave her name as Inez Gonzales, the eldest child of Jesus Gonzales, of Santa Cruz, on the frontier of Sonora. About nine months previous, she had left Santa Cruz with her uncle, aunt, a female friend and her friend’s brother, for the purpose of being present at the grande fiesta de Nuestra Senora de la Magdalena, or, the grand feast of our Lady of Magdalena. They were protected by military escort of ten soldiers and an ensign. The second day of their journey they were ambushed by a large party of El Pinal Apaches, who killed her uncle and eight soldiers, including their officer, and carried off her and her two female friends, with the boy. For seven months she had been in their power, and made to perform all the hard labor of an Apache squaw, receiving kicks and blows as her reward. One old woman of the tribe, who had a tongue which made even the warriors quail, however, took a passing fancy for Inez, and from that time protected her from insult or harm so long as she remained among them.

Her companions in captivity were subsequently purchased by a band of New Mexican traders, who took them off in a northernly direction. She never saw or heard from them afterwards. A second party had seen and purchased her, with the view of taking her to Santa Fe, for speculative and villainous purposes, when she was rescued by the Commission, every member of which vied with each other to extend their protection and care over this poor and suffering girl. Although she remained among us until her restoration to her parents and home, the sequel of her adventures will be given now.

On the morning of the 27th of August, exactly two months from the date of her rescue, the Commission left the Copper Mines, to prosecute its duties in the field, and as it had become necessary to visit Sonora again, Mr. Bartlett determined upon giving himself the gratification of restoring the fair Inez to the arms of her mourning mother.

After many days wandering, during which our small party was frequently reduced to only five or six, by reason of sending off occasional detachments, and after having lost our way and been forced to the necessity of living on purslain and water for several successive days, we finally arrived near the town of Santa Cruz, on the 22nd of September, nearly a month subsequent to leaving the Copper Mines.

On the morning of the 23rd, just one year to a day from the date of her capture, two men were dispatched to inform the family of Inez of her safety, and to add that she would be with her relations in four or five hours. About three miles from town we met a large and joyous party of Mexicans, arrayed in their gaudiest holiday costumes, and headed by the mother of our fair charge. They had come out to welcome her return and release from captivity among the Apaches, a thing never before known to have occurred.

Mr. Bartlett concedes to me the privilege of placing Inez into the longing arms of her mother, who, after repeated embraces, and amidst alternate tears, prayers, thanksgivings and joyous cries, yielded her place to the strong but inferior claims of other relatives and friends, all of whom ardently and most affectionately embraced her by turns. It was one of the most affecting scenes conceivable, and, in joyous procession, the whole party entered the town, amidst the loudest acclamations of the entire population. Inez immediately entered the church, where the good priest was in attendance, and went through a solemn ceremony and thanksgiving. These scenes and all their attendant circumstances have ever been among the most pleasant in my remembrance. They form a delicious oasis amidst the unpleasant recollections of “man’s inhumanity to man”.
-John Cremony

Her captivity was far worse than death as he updated on her life throughout his life. Last saying:

My trip to Santa Cruz offered me the opportunity to visit Inez, whom I found to be respected wife of the chief and most influential man in that little community. She has an affectionate husband, who is by no means cramped for this world’s goods; is surrounded by a fine and promising family of three boys and a girl, and is universally esteemed for her many excellent qualities.
-John Cremony circa 1850s

The frontier hasn’t really changed with all that going on in the news that is being uncovered. More laws or inventions is the question. The answer is there are always good people and good stories.

Jordan, we're here.
You're safe.
GABRIEL: Lay him down.
He'll be out for hours.
BELLAMY: Jordan? GABRIEL: He's in to deep to respond.
- Adjustment protocol? - Uh-huh.
The blood of Sanctum is real blood? GABRIEL: Only partially.
Simone predicted that the bloodletting would deepen the religious experience, but the psychoactive component is pure red sun toxin.
- BELLAMY: Useful stuff.
- GABRIEL: When used properly, it can be, yeah.
TREY: Help! GABRIEL: Looks like we found the adjuster.
I don't understand.
We told them the truth.
Why are they still doing this? OCTAVIA: If they accept the truth, their lives mean nothing.
It's why I burnt the farm.
Help me tie him up.
GABRIEL: We can use that to save the people in the tavern.
Cognitive dissonance.
They'll believe anything if it reinforces what they want to be true, even that you're still Daniel Lee.
[INHALES] Antitoxin again? Why? The blood of Sanctum is for more potent than what was in Russell's bomb.
You take me in as a prisoner.
Then once we're inside the tavern What? No, no, no, no.
Slow down.
No way am I drinking that stuff.
They're killing nonbelievers.
My friend who you left behind is one of them.
Look.
I am sorry, but we stayed to save our friends, and we did that.
We're all here.
If I could help our people in space, I would, but this isn't our fight.
OK.
Wait for me.
I can't let these people die, Bell.
Side by side.
Like it was meant to be.
I guess it's time to do better.

Did you hear about the drama with James? LOL

This was back in May.

The testimonial resulted in Charles losing more than 2 million subscribers in less than 48 hours. The hashtags “JamesCharlesIsOverParty” and “JamesCharlesIsCancelled” trended worldwide on Twitter.

Yes. Outside of makeup, the maturity levels between him and Tati were on differing wavelengths. All that should of been done privately by both parties. I think they both learned quite a bit lol
