Quoting: today“We found that falsehood defuses significantly farther, faster, deeper, and more broadly than the truth, in all categories of information, and in many cases by an order of magnitude,” says Sinan Aral, a professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management and co-author of a new paper detailing the findings. “These findings shed new light on fundamental aspects of our online communication ecosystem,” says Deb Roy, an associate professor of media arts and sciences at the MIT Media Lab and director of the Media Lab’s Laboratory for Social Machines (LSM), who is also a co-author of the study. Roy adds that the researchers were “somewhere between surprised and stunned” at the different trajectories of true and false news on Twitter. Moreover, the scholars found, the spread of false information is essentially not due to bots that are programmed to disseminate inaccurate stories. Instead, false news speeds faster around Twitter due to people retweeting inaccurate news items. [link to news.mit.edu] Last Edited by aether on 03/08/2018 05:11 PM |

Seer777 Ride the wings of the mind User ID: 76060982 United States 03/08/2018 06:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I read a post here a couple weeks ago in which the poster mentioned having been wait staff for Bezos and his family in Seattle. Quoting: Seer777 Said he was nice guy and carried with him a small pyramid he placed on the table. I thought that was particular and have been considering Bezos ever since. The clock sync is quite striking to me. Thread: Amazon's Jeff Bezos and wife had a pyramid on their table at dinner. Can someone explain? I was a waiter and bartender in Seattle during the late 1990's up until 2001. I worked at private clubs and high end restaurants. The Gates family would come in as well as Jeff Bezos in addition to people from Vulcan Ventures (Paul Allen) and many of the other tech companies CEO's such as Nintendo. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76185494 This was an exciting time in Seattle and you could feel the buzz of excitement because the tech stocks were soaring and money was everywhere. After serving a few glasses of wine I overheard some very interesting conversations as you can imagine. One time I overhead a stock tip and put all my money in savings on this one biotech stock and it doubled within a week. Anyway, one time that Jeff Bezos and his wife came in I was their waiter and they had a gold pyramid on their table that they had mysteriously carried in with them. It was about 5 inches high at it's peak. Before I served their food I saw Jeff holding it with both hands and he seemed to be focusing intently on it. I never asked about it. Jeff was always very pleasant to the wait staff and he would laugh at jokes that were at his expense. One thing I have noticed about billionaires is that they love being the subject of jokes because I guess everyone else kisses their asses and is too afraid of offending them. So was the pyramid some Illuminatti thing or what? This story is 100% true and I swear it on my life. we incorporated the kabbalah and the book of changes non contact force into our emotional values on the 2012 phenomenon day in the x thread in anticipation of where we are today Quoting: aether Alibaba and Bezos.. In fact, when I started shooting, I thought I wasn’t able to operate all semi-automatic handguns either. Believe me, ladies; I understand your slide intimidation. However, have no fear! Regardless of what you may think, it is not your strength or lack thereof that enables you to rack a slide properly—it’s learning the correct technique. Step 5: With as much force as you can muster, PUSH the gun forward with your dominant hand, keeping a firm grip on the top of the slide. You want this motion to be as smooth as possible. A sidearm is typically required equipment for military officers and is usually carried by law enforcement personnel. Usually, uniformed personnel of these services wear their weapons openly, while plainclothes personnel have their sidearms concealed under their clothes. A sidearm may be carried alone, or as a back-up to a primary weapon such as a rifle, carbine, or submachine gun. This contrasts with a monopsony which relates to a single entity's control of a market to purchase a good or service, and with oligopoly which consists of a few sellers dominating a market. Monopolies are thus characterized by a lack of economic competition to produce the good or service, a lack of viable substitute goods, and the possibility of a high monopoly price well above the seller's marginal cost that leads to a high monopoly profit. The verb monopolise or monopolize refers to the process by which a company gains the ability to raise prices or exclude competitors. Broke ladies? Live in a state where it is allowed? Rent out your womb today to a Chinese couple for 60k. Whoa, Baby! Why American Surrogates Are in Demand for Chinese Families Commercial surrogacy is banned in most parts of the world, as well as in many U.S. states. Of course, any baby born via surrogate in the U.S. has birthright citizenship. "The Chinese couples really like that because a lot of them want to come back and forth," says Molly O'Brien, a fertility lawyer with offices in Torrance who frequently travels to China to participate in information sessions for would-be parents, often sponsored by doctors offices or assisted-reproduction agencies. "Maybe they eventually want that child to be able to go to college here." Unlike the U.S., China forbids dual citizenship, and most American-born Chinese babies remain U.S. citizens. "Anchor baby" is another related term which can have negative connotations. The main reason for birth tourism is to obtain citizenship for the child in a country with birthright citizenship (jus soli). Other reasons include access to public schooling, health care, sponsorship for the parents in the future, or even circumvention of China's two-child policy. Popular destinations include the United States and Canada. Another target for birth tourism is Hong Kong, where mainland Chinese citizens travel to give birth to gain right of abode for their children. To discourage birth tourism, Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom have modified their citizenship laws at different times, granting citizenship by birth only if at least one parent is a citizen of the country or a legal permanent resident who has lived in the country for several years.
