Is, was, always has been Delano. I have been around some semi-literate mountain types who always defer to their own mispronunciations, and they would declare that it has always been "Delanor--" not because they're correct, but because their bias slants toward their own illiteracy.

I have seen the word written many times. Like Fruit Loops and Looney Toons, it has changed.
