I think this all started when Clinton first took office in '93 and started packing government offices with his criminal buddies. He still needed to keep his ass covered for all the murders and cocaine in Mena and that meant putting people in the top positions who could be bribed or implicated if it ever came out.

What good is a justice department if they are tasked with prosecuting the very people who put them in that position? 25 years later and the Federal government is packed with criminals who are only there to steal as much as they can. Like mad dogs they will put up a fight to the very end.
