Houston area here.

Ive been keepimg a not too close eye on that system, it seems as though it is moving west towards us though.

My in-laws live in thd Beaumont area where it seems to be over atm.

Ill get the woman to call her mom and see whats up.

NOAA is not answering. No imagery for the Atlantic. Is it just me?

Good thing that is not sitting in the middle of the gulf. It would grow ugly.

That moves over the gulf and I can see it strengthening fairly rapidly.

What's the history of this system?

Did it just develop over land and sit there?

It looks like it's weakening now and I don't know if it has strong central pressure but if it moves over the gulf and it's general trajectory is south-southwest the Central coast of Texas could get hammered

This is by far not a joke.

I saw a tropical storm sit right off the coast in the same spot for 3 weeks back in the 90's. The rain would pound and let up, wave after wave of it. Places flooded that had never flooded before. The freeway was a river.
