Why no disqualifications in 4 x 100 Relay ?
Hi all ... Well you are probably going to say that the Americans got disqualified but yes that was for handing the baton off outside the designated hand off zone ... but Japan and The USA BOTH STEPPED ON THE LINE JUST BEFORE crossing the finish line and under the rules both shoudl have been DQ'd ... Canada was DQ's for this simple infraction themselves not too long ago ... SO WHAT GIVES ?

The way I see it ...

Jamaica - GOLD
Canada - SILVER

How did you see it ?

DQ's are based upon the position of the Baton, not the runner... If the baton is in the EX zone, then it is legal.

Er actually the rules state that if you step on the line you are guilty of infringement ... just wondering why this was ignored in this race ...

IOC Rules for exchanges State: "Exchanges made outside the zone – based on the position of the baton, not either runners’ feet – result in disqualification". they are not allowed to step on the "Lane" lines

Er ... perhaps you did not watch the race ...

Just meters from the finish line BOTH JAPAN AND THE USA stepped on the line ... This is illegal yet went unpunished ...

It had nothing to do with the exchange ... I will wait till the video is posted to show what I mean ...

One step on lane line is "LEGAL", Two consecutive steps IS "ILLEGAL"... you may take multipe single steps on the lane line, during the race, but it's only two in a row that gets you DQ'ed.... This is not that complicated Folk's no conspiracy here (the dumbo runners were not watching their steps on the track, they were too busy watching the big screen in the stands, they got busted for not paying attention to details...

The idiot americans were a total disgrace (4 or 5 consecutive steps out of the zone.... The 3rd runner should "ALWAYS run on the inside of the curve, while the 4th runner "runs" on the outside of the lane) what a bunch of MORON's This is basic technique they should have learned in JR High... IDIOT's!!

Aren't most of these athletes cheaters anyway?
So they make up all sorts of stupid exceptions to the rules.

Track & Field is boring crap anyway.
