According to Story: "A radio talk show host, Greg Szymanski, who has been vacillating for months, has taken it upon himself to imply that the information about Paulson's arrest, affirmed by Michael C. Cottrell, M.S. and based upon sound intelligence, is a lie - Szymanski's 'evidence' being the say-so of some previously unheard-of alleged Treasury official or other. Since Szymanski is now de facto accusing Mr Cottrell of lying, the following information unfortunately has to be placed on the record right now."

If you listen to the second hour of John Stadtmiller's interview with Greg Szymanski in the National Intel Report on the Republican Broadcast Network [link to mp3.rbnlive.com] you will discover that Szymanski states that everything in Story's diary of events last December came from Cottrell. Moreover, he said that Cottrell had confirmed that Paulson had been briefly detained on the orders of German Chancellor Angela Merkel after he had tried to induce her to divert some of the Wanta funds (an illegal act) and was then released on his promise to release the Wanta money. So, contrary to what Story says in his latest article, Szymanski DOES believe that Paulson was briefly detained in Germany and has NOT accused Cottrell of lying about this vital matter. I think Story has innocently misrepresented Szymanski's position. It is not a serious disagreement, merely a misunderstanding. Having heard Szymanski's latest thoughts, it is clear to me that the disagreement between him and Story is not as serious as it is depicted in Story's latest account. Small misunderstandings sometimes lead to heated words that exaggerate differences of opinion.
