What happened as I figure it (as I'm watching) is they figured they've already done the big strong guy vs Leonard several times. Hair tussles, Superman costumes, being held upside down, forehead IOU's, rides home etc.

Had the casting for Penny's brother been in line with ten years of mentions, he would have had some presence, you would have had to acknowledge him as someone who played a role in the narrative. And since it's Big Bang, they'd make fun of the jock.

Why did they bring someone on, just to match finish the family unit? JUST TO FINISH THE FAMILY UNIT????
