It doesn't have to be completely vegan (and shouldn't be, IMO).

The healthiest, longest-lived people throughout history have eaten limited animal products with vegetables being the main course.

They didn't make flax eggs, they ate whatever egg they could spare, probably no more than a couple a week. Same with meat, cheese, etc.

The less saturated fat and cholesterol you consume, the less sticks to your arteries.

On the flip side, good fats are essential and there are nutrients only found in animal products.

Common sense says eat a lot of the low impact foods (vegetables) and enough of the animal fats to get all the good out of them without overdoing it and clogging your arteries.
