How Do You Deal With "Doom Fatigue"?
So I'm pretty new here; my tomato plants are just sprouting.
I love being in an environment wherein I'm able to explore the craziest of ideas and being around others who share that passion (Besides the shills; all ya'll can go suck a Hillary colostomy bag mixed with her pneumonia juice).

Anyway, the near constant state of doom on here, especially after the Bad Self Easter fiasco, has left me a bit frazzled. Guess I'm just looking for some tips and advice from you veteran GLPers. How do you combat the effects of "Doom Fatigue"?

ok welcome ... ever heard of the GLP effect.

Its like this ... If we talk about some shit that is supposed to happen that is like really doomy ... then it doesn't happen

so we deal with it by talking about it and posting shit that gets pinned.

Really, people get fatigued by doom??? Then again, there are a lot of things that I personally don't think are going to happen, at least not anytime soon. Like apocalyptic volcanic doom. Also it's been said that every era thinks they're living in the end times, so that alone tells you that most people expecting doom are wrong. Most doom predictions are going to be wrong.

The only thing I don't like is when real breaking news happens and I'm chained to the computer for updates. Messes up my day or my evening.

you have to awaken and realize that doom is real and it occurs in millions of ways every minute of every day and that anyone that doesn't admit that this has always been the true reality of our world is in denial

I've seen it mentioned and got the general jist of it, but appreciate the explanation. How much, if any, do you think the effect is successful, in part, due to tptb recognizing there is too much awareness of a specific doom?

Used to be booze, now just sleeping pills. I also believe in god so that helps, i kind of feel bad for those who dont because for all of this ugliness the world has to offer they kind of dont get that feeling that there is something for you after all of this madness. It just ends for them. A life of pain for nothing.

Yeah, I've been awake for a little while now, but had felt extremely isolated in the process until I came here. So what do we do to combat this constant doom, besides invoking the GLPE?

I dunno, man. The fails are countless.

Some of the real doom has been pretty intense. Wars, radiation heading my way courtesy of the Japanese. Stuff like that.

bonghit

EDIT: Actually, I'll blame most of that on Mother Nature. Sorry Japan.

I feel like I'm coming here for the "real" news constantly now. I'll see it on FB or something, but I feel like I get more of the real story here.

I guess if I took any of the doom on GLP seriously I would worry. That hasn’t happened yet.

Yeah, my spirituality is what I rely on most. The more I delve into the abyss that is this world, the more convinced I am that this life is just the beginning of an everlasting journey. Hoping the next phase is more peaceful and loving.

Oh, and beer helps too.
