The closer you get to what you want, the more of your soul is mine but you make up for that with spiritual currency you earn through your improved position in life. The farther you get from the deal, the more of your soul is yours and the stronger of a devil you'll be in your own right when the time comes. Currency is experience, strength is free will.

Some requests might not be feasible, I may counteroffer.

Mainly, souls I purchase qualify as heathens, which alone is worth the price of admission and means special treatment when this cycle ends. Maybe even removal of your mark.
