Really it was like a giant oldschool walmart/dollar store. Kinda cool to go into like stepping back in time. Oh well, new world order it is |

They are still open. No going out of business signs...nothing. I don't mind K-Mart so much, near work and I can run in and out during lunch to grab something. Beats the hell outta Walmart. Only the ones here anymore are crappy and not well kept. The Sears here is crappy. The clothing departments look like a thrift shop and it just feels dirty when you walk in there. |

It is like they tried to make them ugly on purpose. And expensive. I am not surprised they are going under. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1550123 I'll miss the clearance sales they had though, like a week ago I got a Linksys router at Kmart for $2.49 (regular price was like $39.99). Of course that same router sells at Walmart for $24.99 ... One of the reasons they have failed -- their regular prices on most items were way to high ... I'll miss my occasional trips there though, was very relaxing to go spend some quiet time there while shopping (the place was always so quiet, like a library) ... and my bank has a branch there also (the main reason I would go) |

It was really a crappy place to shop. Always wondered how it stayed open that long. |

Yeah, Kmart lost its sole back in the 80's "My mom said the only reason men are alive is for lawn care and vehicle maintenance." |

The women in my life bought up Bratz sets and collectible Barbie dolls that were 30 dollars and up at Walmart , they bought it at Kmart for 6-11 dollars. |

I'll miss their clearance sales too. Their clearance sales were some of the best things in town for rock bottom prices for nearly everything. Electronics would usually be for dirt cheap prices yet some feminine beauty crap would still be a few dollars cheaper than their already exorbitantly high prices. I find this to be hilarious though. Just a month or two ago my mom was lauding to me that K-Mart was one of the best stores around because they finally learned their corporate lesson and got put into their place. Now that K-Mart is just about dead entirely... I can't help but to feel like saying to her "Hah!" about this. I always liked the Red light special. I bought a Revel Model Tractor back in the day for just a couple bucks on that light stand. Or was it a Blue light? Blue Light Specials, OP. They had just brought back the Blue Light special the last time I was in ours two weeks ago -- too little, too late. And too many years of charging too much -- can't compete that way. |
