The fact that quantum states exist make me think that we really are living in a simulation.

Indeed, it is the same way OUR world is rendered! ONLY WHEN YOU LOOK AT SOMETHING, THE MATTER IS RENDERED. BEFORE THAT, it's just data, a superposition of possibilities. To quote Douglas Adams: "There is a theory which states that if anyone ever discovers what the universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
